The bicornuate uterus is an uncommon condition, and it is associated with adverse early pregnancy and antenatal events, such as recurrent miscarriages, preterm labor, and delivery. The bicornuate uterus has two symmetric uterine cavities that are fused caudally and have some degree of communication between the two cavities, usually at the uterine isthmus.

Radiological appearance of cortical desmoid in a 14-year-old male patient: A case report.

Cortical desmoid is an uncommon benign bony lesion that can typically be diagnosed through conventional radiographic methods. However, here we present an atypical case of a 14-year-old male who presented with a history of trauma, and the initial X-ray showed a right femur suspicious bony lesion. Still, the subsequent use of CT and MRI confirmed the diagnosis of cortical desmoid, so conservative management and follow-up imaging was recommended.

Distal anterior cruciate ligament avulsion from tibial side is an unusual injury. It can be either bony avulsion, which is more common, or rarely a soft tissue peeling of tibial spine with no bone injury. This case report represents a very infrequent injury of combined soft tissue peeling of distal anterior cruciate ligament along with bony avulsion of tibial spine in a 12-years-old boy after falling from his bike.

Methods And Results: A healthy diet score was developed in 147 642 people from the general population, from 21 countries in the PURE study, and the consistency of the associations of the score with events was examined in five large independent studies from 70 countries. A 38-year-old grand multiparous pregnant woman in the United Arab Emirates presented to a secondary hospital in active labor at 38 weeks and two days of pregnancy. She visited the antenatal clinic just once during her entire pregnancy. Antenatally, her venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk assessment score was 2, and she was not started on thromboprophylaxis.

Introduction: Portable spirometers are commonly used in longitudinal epidemiological studies to measure and track the forced expiratory volume in first second (FEV1) and forced vital capacity (FVC). During the course of the study, it may be necessary to replace spirometers with a different model. This raise questions regarding the comparability of measurements from different devices.

Computed tomography (CT) radiation dose management tools should be used whenever possible, particularly with the increasing demand for acquiring CT studies. Herein, we aim to assess the advantages and challenges faced with implementing two CT dose management tools. A second aim was to highlight CT examinations exceeding dose notification values (NVs) and define the common set of causes.

Background: Effective treatments for COVID-19 are urgently needed, but conducting randomized trials during the pandemic has been challenging.

Methods: The Anti-Coronavirus Therapy (ACT) trials are parallel factorial international trials that aimed to enroll 3500 outpatients and 2500 inpatients with symptomatic COVID-19. The outpatient trial is evaluating colchicine vs usual care, and aspirin vs usual care.

Variations in risks from smoking between high-income, middle-income, and low-income countries: an analysis of data from 179 000 participants from 63 countries.

Background: Separate studies suggest that the risks from smoking might vary between high-income (HICs), middle-income (MICs), and low-income (LICs) countries, but this has not yet been systematically examined within a single study using standardised approaches. We examined the variations in risks from smoking across different country income groups and some of their potential reasons.

Methods: We analysed data from 134 909 participants from 21 countries followed up for a median of 11·3 years in the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) cohort study; 9711 participants with myocardial infarction and 11 362 controls from 52 countries in the INTERHEART case-control study; and 11 580 participants with stroke and 11 331 controls from 32 countries in the INTERSTROKE case-control study.
