August 2023

Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, University Hospital Ibn Rochd, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hassan II University of Casablanca, Morocco.

Introduction: Tumors of the uterine tube are rare pathologies representing less than 1 % of all gynecologic cancers; they are dominated by adenocarcinomas. Secondary metastatic forms are the most frequent, whereas primary tumors are very rare and represent only 10 %, which suggests that the fallopian tube is an organ with low oncogenic potential.

Report Of Two Cases: We report the two cases of a patients followed in the gynecology department C of the CHU IBN ROCHD CASA for a primary tubal adenocarcinoma.

In searching for a new and efficient therapeutic agent against Alzheimer's disease, a Quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) was derived for 45 Flavonoid derivatives recently synthesized and evaluated as cholinesterase inhibitors. The multiple linear regression method (MLR) was adopted to develop an adequate mathematical model that describes the relationship between a variety of molecular descriptors of the studied compounds and their biological activities (cholinesterase inhibitors). Golbraikh and Tropsha criteria were applied to verify the validity of the built model.

Male infertility is a complex multifactorial disease and a real health problem; 50% of infertile men have identifiable causes detectable by fundamental sperm analysis. Numerous research studies have shown the possibility of treating abnormal semen samples with some drugs before artificial insemination, yet evidence of the drug's effectiveness remains minimal. In our previous work, we tested the effectiveness of some essential oils, such as eucalyptus ( Labill.

Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a global health threat. The kinetics of antibodies against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) need to be assessed, as the long-term duration of these immunoglobulins remains largely controversial. The aim of this study was to assess the longitudinal dynamics of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies against the nucleocapsid (N) protein and the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike protein up to one year in a cohort of 190 COVID-19 patients.

A facile chemical procedure was utilized to produce an effective peroxy-monosulfate (PMS) activator, namely ZnCoO/alginate. To enhance the degradation efficiency of Rhodamine B (RhB), a novel response surface methodology (RSM) based on the Box-Behnken Design (BBD) method was employed. Physical and chemical properties of each catalyst (ZnCoO and ZnCoO/alginate) were characterized using several techniques, such as FTIR, TGA, XRD, SEM, and TEM.

identification of 20S proteasome-β5 subunit inhibitors using structure-based virtual screening.

J Biomol Struct Dyn

August 2024

Laboratory of Biochemistry, Environment and Agri-Food (URAC 36), Faculty of Sciences and Techniques-Mohammedia, Hassan II University of Casablanca, Morocco.

Proteasome inhibitors have effective anti-tumor activity in cell culture and can induce apoptosis by interfering with the degradation of cell cycle proteins. 20S Proteasome is acknowledged to be a satisfactory target that has persistent properties against the human immune defense and is obligatory for the degradation of some vital proteins. This study aimed to identify potential inhibitors against 20S proteasome, specifically the β5 subunit, using structure-based virtual screening and molecular docking to reduce the number of ligands that should be eligible for experimental assays.

Laboratory of Mathematics and Applications, Faculty of Sciences and Technologies, Hassan II University of Casablanca, PO Box 146, 20650 Mohammedia, Morocco.

The global analysis of a spatio-temporal fractional order SIR infection model with saturated incidence function is suggested and studied in this paper. The dynamics of the infection is described by three partial differential equations including a time-fractional derivative order for each one of them. The equations of our model describe the evolution of the susceptible, the infected and the recovered individuals with taking into account the spatial diffusion for each compartment.

Article Synopsis
  • Monkeypox virus (MPV) is similar to smallpox, and research indicates that the smallpox vaccine can prevent MPV in about 85% of cases; however, no multi-epitope vaccine exists yet.
  • This study utilized structural biology and immunoinformatics to create a multi-epitope subunit vaccine for MPV, incorporating elements from vaccinia virus and the MPV genome from the 2022 outbreak.
  • The vaccine demonstrated strong binding to immune receptors, suggesting a potential for effective immune response, but further studies are necessary to fully validate its effectiveness.

Morphological and DNA-based complemented approaches were applied for characterization of sympatric populations of Phlebotomus longicuspis and Phlebotomus perniciosus in Morocco. Both sand fly species are generally recorded in sympatry in North Africa but on few occasions have been molecularly characterized. The diagnostic confusion of these species has led to errors in their geographical distribution and probably, in the assignment of their role in the transmission of L.

The hydatid cyst is a cosmopolitan parasitic infection caused by tapeworms of the genus and is a major public health problem in developing countries. Solitary hydatid cysts located in the buttocks are very rare, and the unusual location of the cyst can aid in the differential diagnosis of subcutaneous masses in this area, particularly in endemic areas. In this report, we present the case of a 39-year-old man who was admitted to the emergency department with a painful, abscessed cyst in the buttock region.

and POM analysis for potential antimicrobial agents of thymidine analogs by using molecular docking, molecular dynamics and ADMET profiling.

Nucleosides Nucleotides Nucleic Acids

September 2023

Laboratory of Carbohydrate and Nucleoside Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Nucleoside analogs are an important, well-established class of clinically useful medicinal agents that exhibit potent antimicrobial activity. Thus, we designed to explore the synthesis and spectral characterization of 5'-(myristoyl)thymidine esters (2-6) for antimicrobial, molecular docking, molecular dynamics, SAR, and POM analyses. An unimolar myristoylation of thymidine under controlled conditions furnished the 5'-(myristoyl)thymidine and it was further converted into four 3'--(acyl)-5'--(myristoyl)thymidine analogs.

In this research paper, we analyzed the bibliographic data of the research publications issued by the Moroccan Journal of Chemistry between 2013 and 2021. As an open-access country-based research journal with a narrow area of interest and international online exposure, it will be interesting to see how it affects the local chemical research community through the comparison of the characteristics of the research outputs of the journal as retrieved from the (DOAJ) with the features of Moroccan chemical research from 2014 to 2021 in the (WoS). In this context, we generated scientometric networks using , a tool for large-scale data visualization, to reveal the patterns of the publications in the Moroccan Journal of Chemistry.
