Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the molecular prevalence of high-risk HPV infection and the distribution of genotypes present in normal cytology, as well as to determine the vaccination status of our study population.
Methods: 110 cervical samples were taken from individuals, and 1 ml of each sample was added to the Xpert HPV cartridge in the sample compartment before it was placed in the Cepheid GeneXpert system. Detection was performed simultaneously via amplification of the and genes in five fluorescent channels (HPV16, HPV18/45, HPV31/33/35/52/58, HPV51/59, and HPV39/56/66/68a).

Graves' orbitopathy (GO) is a rare autoimmune disease that affects patients in their fourth to sixth decade, resulting in retro-orbital inflammation and hypertrophy of extraocular muscles and orbital fat. It is the most common disease affecting the orbit globally, and treatment options vary depending on the severity and activity status of the affection, ranging from local measures such as lubricating eye drops and patching, glucocorticoid eye drops, mydriatics, nonsteroid anti-inflammatory medications to systemic glucocorticoids, and emergency orbital decompression surgery. Immunotherapy and orbital radiation may as well be used as a treatment option even though their efficiency remains controversial.

In the context of designing innovative anticancer agents, the synthesis of a series of chalcones bearing a 3,4,5-trimethoxylated A ring and a variety of B rings, including phenols and original heterocycles such as chromones, was conducted. For this end, Claisen-Schmidt condensation was performed in basic or acidic conditions between the common starting material 3,4,5-trimethoxyacetophenone and appropriate aldehydes; this allowed the recovery of fifteen chalcones in moderate-good yields. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antiproliferative activity against colorectal and prostatic cancer cells, using a colorimetric MTT assay.

The proteasomal system is becoming a target for the treatment of several diseases, especially in cancer therapy. The present study aims to develop a novel copper complex that inhibits the proteasome in skin squamous cell carcinoma. New molecules based on the copper complex were synthesized for the first time to assess their potential as proteasome inhibitors, specifically targeting squamous cell carcinoma induced by 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) in mouse models.

Because of its low-lying location, urbanization, and inadequate infrastructure, Jakarta (Indonesia) has experienced an increase in annual flooding events, rising from an average of five significant floods per year in the 1990s to over 20 annually (2010-2020). With climate change exacerbating extreme weather events, Jakarta encounters escalating risks of flooding. Although the recurrent flooding is exacerbated by non-point source (NPS) of pollution such as urban runoff and agricultural discharge that contribute to 40% of total pollutants leading to flood-related issues in Jakarta, none has investigated this research gap.

Potentiostatic and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements were recorded to study the nucleation and growth mechanisms of electrodeposited CuNiSnS (CNTS) thin films from aqueous solution at different applied potentials. The electrodeposition process of Cu-Ni-Sn-S precursors were studied using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques. The nucleation and growth mechanism of these films was found to follow a three-dimensional progressive nucleation limited by diffusion-controlled growth.

Background: Faced with a deemed mediocre quality of life (QoL) in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS), the effectiveness of therapeutic education (TPE) programs is called into question. This systematic review is conducted to examine the impact of the TPE programs on the QoL of pwMS.
Methods: A search was performed in three databases (PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus) to identify relevant studies published between 2007 and 2022.

Introduction: Aspergillus fumigatus, a significant fungal pathogen, poses a threat to human health, especially in immunocompromised individuals. Addressing the need for novel antifungal strategies, this study employs virtual screening to identify potential inhibitors of Fructosamine oxidase, also known as Amadoriase II, a crucial enzyme in A. fumigatus (PDB ID: 3DJE).

The complement system is a set of over 50 proteins that constitutes an essential part of the innate immune system. Complement system activation involves an organized proteolytic cascade. Overactivation of complement system activation is the main pathogenic mechanism of several diseases and contributes to the manifestations of many other conditions.
