TYMP gene, which codes for thymidine phosphorylase (TP) is also known as platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor (PD-ECGF). TP plays crucial roles in nucleotide metabolism and angiogenesis. Mutations in the TYMP gene can lead to Mitochondrial Neurogastrointestinal Encephalopathy (MNGIE) syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.

Introduction And Importance: Basal cell carcinoma is a common form of skin cancer whose global incidence is rising rapidly, with over 70 % of locations on the face. In contrast to their low mortality, their morbidity is high. Extensive basal cell carcinomas and infiltrative lesions are associated with a high recurrence rate, which can result a serious esthetic and functional damage.

Porous-activated carbons (ACs) derived from Moroccan pine cones (PC) were synthesised by a two step-chemical activation/carbonisation method using phosphoric acid (PC-H) and zinc chloride (PC-Z) as activating agents and used for the adsorption of bisphenol A (BPA) from water. Several techniques (TGA/DTA, FT-IR, XRD, SEM and BET) were used to determine the surface area and pore characterisation and variations during the preparation of the adsorbents. The modification significantly increased the surface area of both ACs, resulting in values of 1369.

Introduction And Aim: The advances and the wide use of brain imaging have considerably increased the prevalence of silent brain infarctions (SBI). We aim in this study to determine the prevalence of SBI in patients presenting with acute cardioembolic stroke and the predictive cardiovascular risk factors.
Methods: This retrospective study included 267 patients presenting with acute cardioembolic stroke in the emergency and/or neurology departments of the Hassan II University Hospital Center.

P-element-induced wimpy testis (PIWI)-interacting RNAs (piRNAs/piRs) are a class of small noncoding RNAs that play a crucial role in regulating various biological processes, including carcinogenesis. One specific piRNA, piR-651, has been reported to be overexpressed in both human blood serum and solid cancer tissues, that can be used a viable biomarker in cancer diagnosis. Early diagnosis of cancer can help reduce the burden of the disease and improve survival rates.

In the Mediterranean region, reforestation programs record failures following successive drought periods. The use of different plant-growth-promoting amendments and the understanding of drought-induced physiological and biochemical responses of carob will contribute to the reforestation program's success. In this study, the effects of arbuscular-mycorrhizal-fungi (AMF), vermicompost (VC), and rock phosphate (RP) on carob seedlings under drought stress (DS) and recovery (REC) conditions were evaluated.

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a neoplastic disease of genetic origin resulting from clonal proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). The reciprocal translocation t(9;22)(q34;q11) is the main chromosomal abnormality involved in this pathology, usually detected by conventional cytogenetics. This article aims to investigate the epidemiological, cytogenetic, therapeutic, and clinical characteristics of Moroccan patients with CML.

Introduction: Glioblastoma and astrocytoma, grade 4, are the most common and aggressive brain tumors. Several biomarkers, such as the isocitrate dehydrogenase mutation (IDH-1), alpha-thalassemia/mental retardation, and the X-linked mutation (ATRX), enable more accurate glioma classification and facilitate patient management. This study aimed to determine the prognostic value of clinical and molecular factors (IDH, TP53, and ATRX mutations).

Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a multifactorial malignancy associated with both genetic and environmental factors. Polymorphic deletions of the phase I and phase II genes involved in the detoxification of potential carcinogens may be a risk factor for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. In this study, we investigated the relationship between CYP2E1 (rs3813867), CYP2A6, GSTM1(rs1183423000) and GSTT1(rs1601993659) gene variations and NPC risk in North African countries with the highest incidence of NPC (Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia).
