The management of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) in elderly patients can present a significant challenge for dentists due to its multifactorial etiology, aging-related changes that contribute to TMD, and the fragile psychological state of these patients. Despite the growing prevalence of TMD in the elderly population, the scientific literature provides limited information about effective management strategies for this group. Therefore, it is crucial for researchers and clinicians to focus on improving our understanding of TMD in the elderly population and to develop more effective treatment approaches.

This study explores the use of functionalized manganese oxide (K-MnO-NH) for the removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) ions, a highly toxic heavy metal contaminant, from wastewater. The synthesis of K-MnO-NH was achieved through a two-step process, followed by comprehensive characterization using various analytical techniques, which confirmed the material's formation as a pure phase. The K-MnO-NH exhibited exceptional chromium removal efficiency, achieving up to 90% (4.

Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Etiology (CKDu) is a worldwide hidden health threat that is associated with progressive loss of kidney functions without showing any initial symptoms until reaching end-stage renal failure, eventually leading to death. It is a growing health problem in Asia, Central America, Africa, and the Middle East, with identified hotspots. CKDu disease mainly affects young men in rural farming communities, while its etiology is not related to hypertension, kidney stones, diabetes, or other known causes.

NR2F6 has emerged as a key player in immune regulation, especially in cancer immunity. It has indeed been reported that NR2F6 could suppress the anti-tumor immune response, and has therefore been suggested as possible target in cancer immunotherapy. In this review, we will start by describing the complex structure of the NR2F6 gene and its multifaceted biological functions.

Introduction And Importance: In Morocco, diagnosing Gamma Sarcoglycanopathies mainly relies on histopathological analysis of muscle biopsies due to limited genetic and molecular research access. This study highlights the significance of muscle biopsies and explores potential predictive factors and possible correlation between histopathological abnormalities and clinical phenotypes.
Case Presentation: Muscle biopsies of six patients diagnosed with γ-sarcoglycanopathy were collected over two years.

The increasing presence of emerging pollutants (EPs) in water poses significant environmental and health risks, necessitating effective treatment solutions. Originating from industrial, agricultural, and domestic sources, these contaminants threaten ecological and public health, underscoring the urgent need for innovative and efficient treatment methods. TiO-based semiconductor photocatalysts have emerged as a promising approach for the degradation of EPs, leveraging their unique band structures and heterojunction schemes.

Background: Leishmania is the causal parasite of leishmaniasis, a neglected tropical disease affecting millions of individuals worldwide, and its dissemination is linked to climate change. Despite the complexity and effectiveness of the immune response, the parasite has developed many strategies to evade it and take control of the host cell to replicate. These evasion strategies start at early stages of infection by hijacking immune receptors to mitigate the cellular response.

Leishmaniasis is a vector-borne parasitic infection induced by protozoa of the genus The disease spectrum ranges from skin lesions to visceral leishmaniasis, which is fatal if untreated. The cutaneous leishmaniasis is characterized by a clinical polymorphism of lesions with a broad range of severity ranging from a self-limited lesion to multiple disfiguring lesions stigmatizing the patient for life. Although iron is required for several process of infection including survival, growth and virulence, the number of studies on host iron metabolism during this infection remains limited.

This study offers a novel method for improving the piezoelectric characteristics of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) by adding lanthanated CoFeO nanoparticles (CLFO), thereby addressing the critical need for effective renewable energy solutions. The novelty of this work lies in the synthesis of CLFO nanoparticles and their integration into the PVDF matrix, with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) employed to ensure uniform dispersion. This was accomplished by a special co-precipitation and heat treatment procedure.

We report a case of tuberculous meningitis without pleocytosis of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in a 27-year-old patient admitted for a meningeal syndrome with signs of basilar involvement and an infectious syndrome associated with a hacking cough with whitish sputum and night sweats, evolving for 15 days before her admission, in a context of weight loss of 2 kg, asthenia, and anorexia. Cytobacteriological and chemical analysis of the CSF revealed less than 3 cells/mm white blood cells, high protein levels of 2.54 g/l, and low glucose levels of 0.

Squalene synthase (SQS) plays a crucial role in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway. Its distinctive strategic position makes it a promising candidate for targeting and developing new anti-hypercholesterolemic agents. To uncover novel phytochemical scaffolds as potential inhibitors of SQS, we employed a structure-based virtual screening approach that involves screening 545 phytochemicals collected from Moroccan aromatic and medicinal plants and filtering them based on RMSD values and their affinity towards the target enzyme.
