Moroccan Arabic version of the Quality of Life Inventory in Epilepsy (QOLIE-31): translation, cultural adaptation and psychometric validation.

Background: There is currently a growing concern to conduct health-related quality of life (HRQOL) studies among people with epilepsy in low- and middle-income countries, as most data have been derived from high-income countries in North America and Europe.

Aims: To translate, adapt and validate the Moroccan Arabic version of the QOL Inventory in Epilepsy-31 (MA-QOLIE-31) to evaluate HRQOL predictors in the Moroccan population with epilepsy.

Methods: Adaptation and validation of QOLIE-31 were performed in July 2018 among 118 patients with epilepsy in the Fez-Meknes region.

Background: During pregnancy, the discovery of adnexal masses remains frequent. Such masses are mostly benign. Ovarian endometrioma is a rare etiology.

Management of adnexal masses' torsion during pregnancy.

With the increased use and quality of ultrasound in pregnancy, adnexal masses are being encountered with greater frequency. Most of the time such masses are asymptomatic. It can be discovered in an emergency.

Giant cell tumour of the femoral neck: Failure of curettage-cavity filling cementation with screw fixation, a case report.

Background: Giant cell tumours are common primary long bone tumours with femoral neck locations infrequent and notorious for pathological fractures. Treatment with simple curettage often results in local recurrence. Aggressive treatment that combines tumour resection with cement filling and internal fixation aims at preserving native joint function.

Surgical management of intramuscular hemangioma of the foot: a case report.

Background: Hemangiomas are benign tumors usually found in the lower extremity yet their surgical management on the location in the foot is rarely documented.

Case Presentation: We report a case of a plantar intramuscular hemangioma in 25-year-old patient with a history of percutaneous therapy. Patient had undergone intralesional sclerotherapy 3 years prior to his admission with persistent pain on weight bearing activities.

Background: Intracranial dermoid cysts are benign embryologic tumors. They occur most often in children and young adults. Infected intradural dermoid cyst with complete dermal sinus of posterior fossa is rare.

Musculoskeletal Echinococcus infection as a rare first presentation of hydatid disease: case report.

Background: Hydatid disease (HD) is a cosmopolitan parasitosis caused by that can potentially affect any part of the human body. Liver and lungs are the most frequent localizations. Primary musculoskeletal hydatidosis are seldom reported in literature and their incidence is unknown.

The diagnostic value of the bronchoalveolar lavage in interstitial lung diseases.

Objective: Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) is a diagnostic tool often used during the management of interstitial lung diseases (ILD). However, its diagnostic value in discrimination between entities comprising the very heterogenous group of ILD, is still a controversial issue. The objective of our study is to assess the diagnostic value of BAL in the management of ILD, by comparing the cytological findings in BAL fluid among the different diseases of this group.

Myxoma of the kidney - an unusual benign renal tumor: a case report.

Background: Myxomas are rare benign soft tissue tumors. The kidney is an unusual location for this tumor. For this reason, less than 15 cases of renal myxoma have been reported in the English literature.

Mycetoma in a non-endemic area: a diagnostic challenge.

Background: Mycetoma is a chronic granulomatous infectious disease caused by filamentous bacteria or by fungi. The disease is endemic in certain tropical and subtropical areas of the world but can be found elsewhere posing sometimes a diagnostic challenge for clinicians.

Elective gangrene of the corpus spongiosum of idiopathic origin: A case report.

Penile gangrene is rare and associated with significant morbidity and mortality. It can be dry or wet. Treatment for dry gangrene is based on surgery, watchful waiting allowing spontaneous amputation of necrotic tissue or revascularization.

Luminal B tumors are the most frequent molecular subtype in breast cancer of North African women: an immunohistochemical profile study from Morocco.

Background: Breast cancer may be classified into luminal A, luminal B, HER2+/ER-, basal-like and normal-like subtypes based on gene expression profiling or immunohistochemical (IHC) characteristics. The aim of our study is to show the molecular profile characteristic of breast cancer in the North African population of Morocco. This work showed preliminary results and correlations with clinicopathological and histological parameters.

Epididymal leiomyosarcoma: one case report.

Epididymal leiomyosarcoma is very uncommon. Only 16 cases have been reported in the literature. There has never been a reported case of a patient with an African origin with this tumor.

Inflammatory pseudotumor of the kidney: a case report.

Introduction: Inflammatory pseudotumors, also known as inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors, are uncommon benign tumors of unknown etiology which may develop at several anatomical sites. In the urogenital tract, inflammatory pseudotumor usually affects the urinary bladder or the prostate. Inflammatory pseudotumor of the kidney is very rare.

Spectacularly successful microsurgical penile replantation in an assaulted patient: one case report.

Penile amputation is a rare condition for which immediate surgical replantation is warranted. We present herein one case of a 27-year-old male who presented to the Emergency Department after his wife cut his penis. The penis was replanted microsurgically.

Conservative management of a congenital seminal vesicle cyst associated with ipsilateral renal agenesis revealed by cystitis: one case report.

Seminal vesicle cyst is an extremely rare disease. Its association with ipsilateral renal agenesis is even more exceptional. We present herein one case of a 16-year-old male who presented with a four-month history of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTSs) and micturition pain.

Renal hilar pheochromocytoma: a case report.

Paraganglioma is a rare tumor arising from undifferentiated cells of the primitive neural crest. These tumors are most commonly found in the adrenal gland, other localisations are also possible. A 58-year-old woman who presented with history of left lumbar pain, headache, hypertension, palpitation and sweating was found to have a secreting left renal hilar pheochromocytoma.
