Eicosapentaenoic acid- and docosahexaenoic acid-enriched phospholipids (PL) have versatile health-beneficial functions and can be well absorbed in the intestine. Herein, a precursor ion scan-driven hydrophilic interaction chromatography mass spectrometry (PreIS-HILIC-MS) method with the fatty acyl moieties of / 301.6 and 327.

Oyster is rich in plasmalogens that are ether phospholipids with biological functions to human body. Air-frying is a popular technique for preparing delicious oyster but makes the plasmalogens vulnerable to oxidation. In this study, the effect of air-frying processing on plasmalogens oxidation was studied by lipidomic approach.

Collaborative Innovation Center of Seafood Deep Processing, Zhejiang Province Joint Key Laboratory of Aquatic Products Processing, Institute of Seafood, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang 310012, People's Republic of China.

Omega-7 (n-7) phospholipids were bioactive substances in marine animals. In this study, a fast lipidomics phenotyping approach for real-time screening of n-7 phospholipids in five kinds of economic seafood, salmon, prawn, bluefin tuna, hairtail, and butterfish, was established using iKnife rapid evaporative ionization mass spectrometry (REIMS). The n-7 phospholipids were structurally characterized and quantitatively analyzed, and the profiles were statistically analyzed by multivariate recognition analysis.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the cardioprotective effects of Sacubitril/valsartan (Sac/Val) in mice after pressure unloading from aortic stenosis, linked to poor outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
  • - After surgical debanding (DB), mice treated with Sac/Val showed improved heart function, reduced heart weight, and smaller myocardial cell size, indicating protective effects against cardiac damage.
  • - Sac/Val treatment also reduced cardiac fibrosis and inflammation while inhibiting key inflammatory pathways, suggesting it helps to prevent harmful cardiac remodeling and dysfunction post-pressure relief.

Objective: Coronary slow/no reflow is not rare after successfully undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and shock index (SI) is an important factor for adverse cardiovascular prognosis. In this study, we are to explore whether SI is associated with coronary slow/no reflow in patients with AMI following primary PCI.

Methods: A total of 153 consecutive AMI patients undergoing primary PCI within 24 hours of symptom onset were included in this study.

We present the draft genome sequence of a Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-producing sequence type 2357 (ST2357) strain, NB60, which contains drug-resistant genes encoding resistance to beta-lactams, fluoroquinolones, aminoglycosides, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, colistin, macrolides, and tetracycline. Strain NB60 was isolated from human blood, making it an important tool for studying K. pneumoniae pathogenesis.
