The transition metal-catalyzed -C-H functionalization of alcohols and their hydroxylamine derivatives remains underdeveloped. Herein, we report an efficient -C-H arylation of both phenylethyl and benzylic alcohols and their hydroxylamine derivatives using a readily removable oxime ether directing group. Using electronically activated 2-carbomethoxynorbornene as the transient mediator and 3-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridone as the enabling ligand, this reaction features a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance.

A palladium-catalyzed regio- and stereo-selective phosphination of cyclic biarylsulfonium salts (racemic) with HPArAr for straightforward synthesis of atropoisomeric phosphines (P,S-ligands) bearing a stereogenic axis or both a stereogenic axis and a P-stereogenic center is reported. The high reactivity and regio- and stereo-selectivity originate from the torsional strain release and palladium catalysis, and the construction of a P-stereogenic center is enabled by an efficient dynamic kinetic resolution. The high performance of the nascent P,S-ligands has been demonstrated in palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitutions, indicating the great potential of the present methodology.

After screening, 315 articles in Chinese and 34 articles in English were included.

In this work, hierarchically porous PLA (polylactic acid) shape memory nonwovens were prepared by electrospinning its blend solution with PEO (polyethylene oxide) and subsequent water etching. Based on shape memory effect resulting from tiny crystals and the amorphous matrix of PLA, the switch between compact and porous surfaces has been achieved cyclical hot-pressing and recovery in a hot water bath. After hot-pressing, the disappearance of hierarchical pores contributes to compact surface, enabling embedding of the target molecule in PLA nonwoven (, CLOSE state).

Inspired by nature, it is of significant importance to design and construct biomimetic signaling systems to mimic natural signal transduction. Herein, we report an azobenzene/α-cyclodextrin (α-CD)-based signal transduction system with three functional modules: a light-responsive headgroup, lipid-anchored group, pro-catalyst tailgroup. The transducer can be inserted into the vesicular membrane to trigger the transmembrane translocation of molecules under the activation of light, forming a ribonuclease-like effector site and leading to the transphosphorylation of the RNA model substrate inside the vesicles.

A highly sensitive and uniform surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate is the guarantee for reliable quantitative analysis. Herein, a three-dimensional TiO-Ag SERS substrate was prepared by growing a TiO nanorods (NRs) array on a TiO compact layer (c-TiO), followed by modification with Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs). The synergy between the c-TiO, semiconductor TiO NRs and the plasmonic AgNPs collaboratively endowed it with high sensitivity, in which c-TiO effectively blocked the recombination of electrons and holes, and the charge transfer enhancement contributed 10-fold improvement over that without the c-TiO substrate.

Different from the conventional piezochromic materials with a mono-redshift of single emission, our well-designed molecule demonstrates a sensitive turn-on and color-tunable piezochromic luminescence in response to the hydrostatic pressure. The molecule PXZ-W-SOF possesses dual-emission and pressure-induced bidirectional shifting characteristics. On the basis of in-depth experimental studies, on one hand, it is confirmed that the origin of the dual-emission behavior is the intramolecular charge transfer, namely thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), and the intermolecular excimer; on the other hand, the emission of the excimer exhibits three-step variations with increasing pressure, which is mainly attributed to the molecular structure and its crystal packing state.

β-Elemene, a compound extracted from Chinese herb , has been demonstrated with antitumor effects in various cancers, including glioblastoma (GBM), a primary brain tumor with high morbidity and mortality. In this study, we reported a bisamino derivative of β-Elemene, 2, 2'-((1R, 3R, 4S)-4-methyl-4-vinylcyclohexane-1, 3-diyl) bis(prop-2-en-1-amine) (compound 1), displayed a better anti-GBM effect than β-Elemene with lower concentration. GBM cell lines (C6 and U87) were treated with compound 1 and subsequently analyzed by several assays.

A series of ketones and 2-fluoropyridine derivatives with different functional groups proceed well to provide the corresponding products containing all-carbon quaternary stereocenters in good yields (up to 99% yield) and high ee values (up to 99% ee). In addition, drug molecule donepezil could also be compatible under the reaction conditions to afford late-stage diversification of pharmaceuticals.

Thus, the nickel-catalysed olefination of benzylic dithioacetal with MeMgI in benzene in a sealed Schlenk tube at 130 °C generates magnesium mercaptide which regioselectively converts 2-arylpropene into a dimer in good yield. Aryl iodide reacts with 2-propenylmagnesium bromide in the presence of 1,2-ethanedithiol and NiCl(PPh) to yield the same dimer.

A highly precise temperature-feedback photothermal therapy platform in deep tissue is proposed based on all-fiber fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) thermometry, which provides a promising route to realize real-time temperature monitoring in the minimally invasive treatment of tumors. Highly disordered double perovskite LiZnMoO (LZMO) phosphors doped with rare earth ions were prepared and intense green upconversion emissions were observed with an ultra-low excitation power. The thermal enhancement of the upconversion luminescence was achieved up to 423 K, which is very beneficial to achieve a good signal-to-noise performance during the temperature-rise period.
