Effect of hyperbaric oxygenation therapy on post-concussion syndrome.

The present review evaluated the effect of hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) therapy on post-concussion syndrome (PCS). Searches for publications from the earliest date possible up until the first week of 2016 were conducted using the electronic databases Cochrane, EBSCOhost, Embase, Ovid MEDLINE, PubMed and Web of Science. Additional trials were identified through reference list scanning.

Intra-articular injections of botulinum toxin a for refractory joint pain: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: To assess the benefit of intra-articular injection of Botulinum toxin A (BoNT-A) for chronic refractory joint pain regardless of joint or pathology.

Data Sources: The search was performed on Ovid MEDLINE(R) In-Process and Other Non-Indexed Citations, Ovid MEDLINE(R), Ovid EMBASE, Web of Science, and Scopus inception through Week 12, 2016. Trial selection: Clinical randomized controlled trials that evaluated BoNT-A intra-articular injection in patients with refractory joint pain were included.

Effectiveness of Botulinum Toxin for Lower Limbs Spasticity after Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Objectives: To evaluate current evidence of the effectiveness of botulinum toxin (BTX) injection for lower limbs spasticity after stroke.

Methods: Ovid MEDLINE(R) In-Process and Other Non-Indexed Citations，Ovid MEDLINE(R), Ovid EMBASE, Web of Science, and PubMed (NLM) from database were searched inception through Week 23, 2015. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing the clinical efficacy of BTX injection to placebo or conventional therapy on lower limbs spasticity after stroke were included.

Cell-Based Therapies for Lumbar Discogenic Low Back Pain: Systematic Review and Single-Arm Meta-analysis.

Study Design: A systematic review and single-arm meta-analysis of clinical trials.

Objective: To assess the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells or chondrocyte in patients with discogenic low back pain.

Summary Of Background Data: There is no previous review evaluated the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cell or chondrocyte therapy in adults with discogenic low back pain.

The application of sonography in shoulder pain evaluation and injection treatment after stroke: a systematic review.

[Purpose] This review article is designed to expose the application of sonography in shoulder pain after stroke. [Methods] A range of databases was searched to identify articles that address sonography examination, with or without ultrasound guided corticosteroid injection for hemiplegic shoulder pain (HSP). The electronic databases of PubMed, CENTRAL, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Medline were searched.

The effects of combined hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patients with post-stroke depression.

[Purpose] To observe the effect of combined hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patients with post-stroke depression. [Subjects] Ninety patients with post-stroke depression were randomly divided into 3 groups: fluoxetine treatment group (n = 30), hyperbaric oxygen therapy group (n = 30), and hyperbaric oxygen combined treatment group (n = 30). [Methods] Fluoxetine treatment group received anti-depression drugs (fluoxetine, 20 mg/day), hyperbaric oxygen therapy group received hyperbaric oxygen (once a day, 5 days/week), hyperbaric oxygen combined treatment group received fluoxetine and hyperbaric oxygen treatments as described above.

Gait improvement by low-dose botulinum toxin A injection treatment of the lower limbs in subacute stroke patients.

[Purpose] Lower-limb spasticity after stroke may be associated with worse functional outcome. Our study aim was to establish whether a low-dose botulinum toxin A (BTX-A) injection in subacute stroke patients can improve spasticity, gait, and daily living abilities. [Subjects] Twenty-three subacute stroke patients were randomly allocated to BTX-A treatment group (11 patients) and control group (12 patients).

Bone marrow stromal cells combined with oxiracetam influences the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 in rats with ischemic stroke.

This study aimed to investigate the combination effects of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) and oxiracetam for ischemic stroke. Forty Sprague Dawley female rats (220 ± 20 g) were subjected to a 2-hour ischemic middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-24 hours reperfusion model. The rats were randomly divided into 4 groups.
