Prostate cancer (PCa) affects males of all racial and ethnic groups, and leads to higher rates of mortality in those belonging to a lower socioeconomic status due to the late detection of the disease. PCa affects middle‑aged males between the ages of 45 and 60 years, and is the highest cause of cancer‑associated mortality in Western countries. As the most abundant and common mRNA modification in higher eukaryotes, N‑methyladenosine (mA) is widely distributed in mammalian cells and influences various aspects of mRNA metabolism.

Artificial neural network optimisation of natural deep eutectic solvent extraction process of Danshen-Gegen and cytotoxicity study.

Natural deep eutectic solvents (NaDESs) are environmentally friendly and efficient for the componential extraction of traditional Chinese medicine compared to conventional organic solvents. In this study, NaDES was screened and employed to extract Danshen-Gegen (DG), and the extraction process was optimised by response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural networks (ANN) model. Besides, the security of extracts of DG were evaluated in PC12 cells.

In order to address this issue, we have developed a fibrin hydrogel complex (FG@PEV).

Aims: To explore the relationship between major depressive disorder (MDD) and fracture risk.

Methods: We conducted a nested case-control analysis (32 670 patients with fracture and 397 017 individuals without fracture) and a matched cohort analysis (16 496 patients with MDD and 435 492 individuals without MDD) in the same prospective UK Biobank data set.

Methods: We extracted data from PubMed, Cochrane, Medline and Embase databases, and rated literature quality through Cochrane risk of bias tool and MINORS.

Background Although favorable outcomes have been reported with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT), the long-term efficacy remains insufficiently investigated. Purpose To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of US-guided percutaneous RFA in patients with SHPT undergoing dialysis and to identify possible predictors associated with treatment failure. Materials and Methods This retrospective study included consecutive patients with SHPT with at least one enlarged parathyroid gland accessible for RFA who were undergoing dialysis at seven tertiary centers from May 2013 to July 2022.

Deciphering the complex relationship between type 2 diabetes and fracture risk with both genetic and observational evidence.

The 'diabetic bone paradox' suggested that type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients would have higher areal bone mineral density (BMD) but higher fracture risk than individuals without T2D. In this study, we found that the genetically predicted T2D was associated with higher BMD and lower risk of fracture in both weighted genetic risk score (wGRS) and two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses. We also identified ten genomic loci shared between T2D and fracture, with the top signal at SNP rs4580892 in the intron of gene .

Imbalance of gut microbiota in gestational diabetes.

Aim: To investigate the differences in gut microbiota composition among nonpregnant women of reproductive age, healthy pregnant women, and gestational diabetes (GD) patients.

Methods: A total of 45 outpatients were enrolled and divided into three groups: nonpregnant women of reproductive age (control group, n = 23), healthy pregnant women (normal group, n = 10), and GD patients (GD group, n = 12).
