Osteosarcoma is one of the most common malignant bone tumours in children. In this study, we aimed to construct a cuproptosis-related lncRNAs signature to predict the prognosis and immune landscape of osteosarcoma patients. Databases from TARGET were used to acquire osteosarcoma patient datasets, which included clinical information and RNA sequencing data.

Objectives: Develop risk-adapted conditional biopsy pathways utilizing MRI in combination with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) density (PSAD) and the ratio of free to total PSA (f/tPSA), respectively, to enhance the detection of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) while minimizing 'negative' biopsies in low-risk patients.

Methods: The Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) category, PSAD, f/tPSA and biopsy-pathology of 1018 patients were collected retrospectively. Subsequently, PSAD and f/tPSA were divided into four intervals, which were then combined with the MRI findings to construct two risk stratification matrix tables.

Department of Anesthesiology & Clinical Research Center for Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine & Key Laboratory of Anesthesia and Analgesia Application Technology, Huzhou Central Hospital, The Fifth School of Clinical Medicine of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Huzhou, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Inflammation-related pain alters pain sensitivity in mice, evidenced by reduced paw withdrawal thresholds and latencies in CFA-induced pain models.
  • Research highlights elevated c-Fos protein expression in the paraventricular nucleus of the thalamus (PVT), indicating neuron activation due to pain stimuli.
  • The study utilized optogenetics to modulate the PVT-NAc neural circuit, showing its significant role in how inflammatory pain is experienced and managed.

Background: The results of Study 1 we have published proved that medium and high doses of Gegen Qinlian Decoction (GQD) were effective in treating type 2 diabetes (T2D) with damp-heat syndrome. However, whether the main drug of GQD in treating T2D was or has always been a hot topic of debate among many doctors. Therefore, we conducted Study 2 and Study 3 to determine the main drug of GQD for treating T2D.

ELAVL1 governs breast cancer malignancy by regulating cell stemness.

Biochim Biophys Acta Mol Cell Res

November 2024

Department of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, China. Electronic address:

Despite advances in understanding breast cancer (BC) molecular subtypes, the mechanisms underlying its grade of malignancy remain unclear. Our study reveals that low expression of the RNA-binding protein ELAVL1 is linked to higher-grade malignancy and poorer prognosis in malignant BC subtypes. Notably, knockdown of ELAVL1 increased the expression of key stem cell markers (CD44, SOX2, OCT4, KLF4, and NANOG) and enhanced tumorsphere formation.

The correlation between the Cobb angle and the sagittal spinal curvature (SSC) in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) has been reported in some previous studies, but few studies have reported on the relation of coronal wedge deformity (CWD) with sagittal curvature. This study aims to investigate the correlation between CWD and SSC in AIS patients. A retrospective analysis was conducted in 122 AIS patients treated at our hospital from January 2018 to November 2023.

In this article, we aim to review the diagnosis, classification, and treatment of acromioclavicular joint injury by mainly describing the progress of surgical treatment for acromioclavicular joint injury, providing a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Acromioclavicular joint injury is a common sports injury, which is more common in male than in female patients. The mechanism of the injury is mainly caused by direct or indirect violence, which can be clearly diagnosed by radiography.
