Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of lesion removal, bone grafting, fusion, and external fixation in the treatment of late-stage wrist tuberculosis.

Methods: From October 2015 to May 2019, 25 patients with late-stage wrist tuberculosis were treated using lesion removal, bone grafting, fusion, and external fixation. Among these patients, there were 14 males and 11 females, aged from 40 to 74 years old, with an average age of (60.

Introduction: Alectinib is a second-generation, anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) for the treatment of ALK+ non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and is able to induce significant and durable CNS responses. However, long-term use of alectinib has been clinically reported to cause some serious and even life-threatening adverse events. There are currently no effective interventions for its adverse events, and this undoubtedly leads to delays in patient treatment and limits its long-term clinical use.

Radiotherapy is an effective therapy in tumour treatment. However, the characteristics of the tumour microenvironment, including hypoxia, low pH, and interstitial fluid pressure bring about radioresistance. To improve the anti-tumour effect of radiotherapy, it has been demonstrated that antiangiogenic therapy can be employed to repair the structural and functional defects of tumour angiogenic vessels, thereby preventing radioresistance or poor therapeutic drug delivery.

Article Synopsis
  • * Ureaplasma parvum was identified as a rare pathogenic cause of his condition through advanced genetic testing, despite the absence of typical responses to treatment and normal liver function tests.
  • * The findings suggest that Ureaplasma parvum should be considered as a potential cause of septic arthritis, particularly in patients with atypical presentations and symptoms of hyperammonemia.

Disturbance of bone homeostasis caused by () is a key clinical manifestation in spinal tuberculosis (TB). However, the complete mechanism of this process has not been established, and an effective treatment target does not exist. Increasing evidence shows that abnormal osteoclastogenesis triggered by an imbalance of the receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL)/osteoprotegerin (OPG) axis may play a key role in the disturbance of bone homeostasis.

Objective: To investigate the safety of nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide 66 (n-HA/PA66) bioactive support in bone grafting and fusion for elderly patients with lumbar tuberculosis, and to analyze its effectiveness and advantages by comparing with autologous iliac bone grafting.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 48 elderly patients with lumbar tuberculosis who met the selection criteria between January 2017 and January 2020. The patients all underwent one-stage posterior pedicle screw internal fixation combined with anterior lesion removal and bone grafting and fusion, of which 23 cases applied n-HA/PA66 bioactive support+allogeneic bone graft (n-HA/PA66 group) and 25 cases applied autologous iliac bone graft (autologous iliac bone group).
