Predicting axillary lymph node metastasis in breast cancer using a multimodal radiomics and deep learning model.

Objective: To explore the value of combined radiomics and deep learning models using different machine learning algorithms based on mammography (MG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for predicting axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM) in breast cancer (BC). The objective is to provide guidance for developing scientifically individualized treatment plans, assessing prognosis, and planning preoperative interventions.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical and imaging data from 270 patients with BC confirmed by surgical pathology at the Third Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between November 2022 and April 2024.

Under hypoxic conditions, CHD1L promoted the proliferation, migration, invasion, and angiogenesis of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.

Outcomes of retroperitoneal fibrosis-related hydronephrosis and its risk factors for poor prognosis: a multi-center retrospective cohort study in Chinese patients.

Objective: Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is a rare disease characterized by the presence of fibroinflammatory tissue that surrounds the abdominal aorta and the iliac arteries and often entraps the ureters. Hydronephrosis is a common complication of RPF, however, its clinical features and outcomes have not been well elucidated.

Methods: A total of 115 RPF-related hydronephrosis patients have been recruited from 9 clinical centers in China since March 2010.

In this study, poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and chitosan (CTS) were used as carrier materials to construct multifunctional pirfenidone (PFD)/CTS/PEO (PCP) nanofiber membranes (NFMs) loaded with PFD by microfluidic blow-spinning (MBS). Aims: Earlier studies have indicated an association between the TIMP1 polymorphism and the risk of certain autoimmune diseases, as well as a link between higher TIMP1 levels and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD). This study aimed to explore the correlation between TIMP1 polymorphism and NMOSD phenotypes.

Methods: Genotyping of three loci (rs4898, rs2070584, rs6609533) in the TIMP1 gene was performed in 126 NMOSD patients and 213 healthy controls (HCs) from North China using the SNaPshot sequencing technique, and a correlation analysis was done between phenotypes and TIMP1 genotype.

Methods: This multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel-group, active-controlled, phase 3 study enrolled 362 participants with T2DM.
