To evaluate the association between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), including insulin-dependent GDM with pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) multiples of the median (MoM) and free beta human chorionic gonadotropin (free β-hCG) MoM levels, and to assess their potential as predictive risk factors. This retrospective study included 2588 women with singleton pregnancies who underwent combined first-trimester screening, along with the 50 g glucose challenge test (GCT) and a 100 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation. Patients were initially divided into four groups based on the glucose screening results, and PAPP-A and free β-hCG MoMs were compared between these groups.

Objective: Our work aims to determine whether there is an association between first-trimester serum pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) multiples of the median (MoM) value and placenta previa with or without placenta accreta spectrum disorders (PAS) in women.
Patients And Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 267 patients who had first-trimester screening test results for aneuploidy, including nonadherent placenta previa (n=106), placenta previa with PAS (n=60), and control group (healthy pregnant women with previous cesarean section and normal placental location, n=101). To assess the significant difference between these groups, PAPP-A MoMs were compared.

Background: To evaluate cases diagnosed with fetal abdominal cyst diagnosed in prenatal period.
Methods: We retrieved the cases diagnosed with fetal abdominal cyst between the years 2018 and 2020 from hospital's database. The localization, origin, dimensions, properties (simple or complex), and characteristics (solid, cystic, vascularity) were noted both in prenatal and postnatal period.

The diagnosis of TAPVC in the prenatal period, especially if it is in the obstructive form, is very important in terms of both delivery planning and postnatal management. Here we show how a rare obstructive mixed type abnormal pulmonary venous connection is diagnosed prenatally.

Background: Although infertility is known as a chronic inflammatory condition, the effect of the increased inflammatory response on IUI success is not clear. Systemic inflammation can be calculated by applying various hematological markers.
Aims: We aimed to evaluate the ability of hematologic parameters of inflammation in predicting intrauterine insemination (IUI) outcome.

Proboscis lateralis is a very rare congenital craniofacial malformation characterized by a finger-like tubular appendage arising usually from the medial canthal region. It is mostly unilateral and associated with other craniofacial malformations. Occasionally, proboscis lateralis is seen with holoprosencephaly.

Objective: To determine the levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroxin (T4), triiodothyronine (T3), anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO), anti-thyroglobulin (anti-TG) and renal iodine excretion (RIE) in the first trimester of the pregnancy and to estimate the risk of developing GDM in these patients.
Method: The levels of TSH, T3, T4, anti-TPO, anti-TG, and RIE were retrospectively evaluated. A total of 312 pregnant women were included in the study (GDM (-) group n=240, GDM (+) group n=62).

The relationship between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and menopause remains unclear. The effects of MetS on breast and bone density in this group of women are also not fully elucidated. Herein, we aimed to investigate the relationship between components of the MetS, mammographic breast density (MBD), and vertebral/femoral bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal Turkish women.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between striae gravidarum (SG) score and abdominal scar characteristics together with intraperitoneal adhesion (IPA) grades of patients who were hospitalized for second cesarean delivery.
Methods: A total of 145 consecutive women undergoing scheduled cesarean section (CS) in a tertiary level maternity hospital between November 2013 and January 2014 were included in the study. All women had transverse suprapubic skin incision due to the previous CS and none of them had a history of vaginal delivery.

Objective: To investigate the effect of antenatal corticosteroid prophylaxis on neonatal respiratory morbidity between 34 and 37 weeks of gestation.
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated the neonatal respiratory complications of 683 low risk singleton pregnancies delivered at 34-37 weeks of gestation in a tertiary care center between Jan 2012 and Sept 2015. Group-I (n=294) comprised data of woman who did not receive betamethasone and Group-II(n=396) comprised those who received betamethasone after 34 weeks of gestation for cases at risk of preterm birth.

We report a case of a 31-year-old pregnant woman who was admitted to our perinatology outpatient clinic because of a fetal ventricular septal defect and limb reduction in the upper extremities of fetus revealed by ultrasonographic investigation diagnosed in the 16(th) week of gestation. First child of the family was diagnosed with Holt-Oram syndrome who had atrial septal defect and upper limb anomalies, whereas the father was documented to have arrhythmia and shortening of upper limbs. The pregnancy was terminated in the 16(th) week of gestation with the consent of the family.

Aim: We aimed to determine the extent to which mercury is transmitted from the mother to fetus via the umbilical cord in patients with amalgam dental fillings, and its effect on fetal biometric measurements.
Methods: Twenty-eight patients as the study group with amalgam fillings, and 32 of them as the control group were included in this prospective case-control study. The mercury levels were measured in the maternal and cord venous sera, and the placental samples.

Aim: Placenta previa (PP) is a potential life-threatening pregnancy complication. Pro-brain natriuretic peptide (ProBNP), creatine kinase (CK), cardiac form of CK (CK-MB) and Troponin I are circulatory biomarkers related to cardiac functions. We aimed to determine whether these biomarkers are related to PP and placenta accreta.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the relationship between placental calcification and maternal and cord blood 25-hydroxyvitamin-D3 [25(OH)D] and calcium concentrations in low-risk obstetric population at term and their consequences.
Methods: Sixty non-complicated pregnant women at term admitted to maternity clinic were included in this prospective case-control study and classified into one of two groups according to grade of placental calcification by defined the Grannum classification: Group 1 (n=30), with Grade 3 placenta and Group 2 (n=30), the control group, no placental calcification noted. Baseline characteristics, maternal serum and umbilical cord 25(OH)D and calcium levels were compared between groups.
