Laparoscopic tubal anastomosis: reversal of sterilization.

A case of laparoscopic reversal of tubal sterilization is reported. The patient was a 38 year old woman sterilized by bipolar diathermia two years earlier. Refertilization was performed by laparoscopic end to end anastomosis of one tube.

Objective: We evaluated the postoperative changes in serum electrolytes in relation to the amount of irrigating fluid absorption and the occurrence of nausea and vomiting after transcervical resection of endometrium and submucous fibroids.

Methods: From May 1989 to October 1991, 101 consecutive patients were operated on for menometrorrhagia with transcervical resection of endometrium and submucous fibroids using glycine 1.5% for uterine irrigation.

Transcervical resection of endometrium--and of submucous fibroids when present--seems to represent a new alternative to hysterectomy for patients with uncontrolled bleeding disorders. In the present study, we report our initial experience with the first 20 patients treated with a standard, rigid urological resectoscope. Resection of endometrium--and of fibroids when present--was carried out under general anesthesia.
