T-bet and signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) 6 are critical factors for helper T-cell differentiation in humans and mice. Additionally, polymorphisms in TBX21 (T-bet) and STAT6 are associated with the susceptibility of allergic diseases. However, precise mechanisms of the reciprocal regulation between T-bet and STAT6 in allergy remain unclear.

Background: Novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID-19, has thus far affected more than 15 million individuals, resulting in more than 600 000 deaths worldwide, and the number continues to rise. In a large systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature including 2567 pregnant women, 7% required intensive care admission, with a maternal mortality ~1% and perinatal mortality below 1%. There has been a rapid increase in publications on COVID-19-associated coagulopathy, including disseminated intravascular coagulopathy and venous thromboembolism, in the non-pregnant population, but very few reports of COVID-19 coagulopathy during pregnancy; leaving us with no guidance for care of this specific population.

The efficacy and safety of combination therapy with erlotinib and bevacizumab in elderly patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutations are unknown. Elderly patients aged ≥75 years old with advanced or recurrent NSCLC and EGFR mutations (exon 19 deletion or L858R mutation in exon 21) received erlotinib (150 mg, daily) and bevacizumab (15 mg/kg on day 1 of a 21-day cycle) until disease progression or the occurrence of unacceptable toxicities. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival from enrollment.

Background: Spinal shortening osteotomy (SSO) reduces the tension indirectly in the spinal cord and minimizes perioperative complications. However, the most effective and safe length to which the spine can be shortened is still unknown. In our practice, we use somatosensory-evoked potentials, motor-evoked potentials, and intraoperative ultrasonography when performing SSO.

The zinc finger protein 36-like 2, ZFP36L2, is a member of a small family of RNA-binding proteins composed by ZFP36 (also known as tristetraprolin, TTP), ZFP36L1 and ZFP36L2 in humans, with corresponding murine orthologs. These proteins bind to adenine uridine-rich element (ARE) in the 3'untranslated region of target messenger RNA and stimulate target degradation. ZFP36 functions as an anti-inflammatory modulator in murine models of inflammatory diseases by down-regulating the production of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α.

Introduction: Secondary lymphoedema of the extremities is an important quality-of-life issue for patients who were treated for their malignancies. Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescent lymphography may be helpful for assessing lymphoedema and for planning lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA). The objective of the present clinical trial is to confirm whether or not ICG fluorescent lymphography using the near-infrared monitoring camera is useful for assessing the indication for LVA, for the identification of the lymphatic vessels before the conduct of LVA, and for the confirmation of the patency of the anastomosis site during surgery.
