Radiation exposure poses a substantial occupational risk for healthcare professionals in the catheterization laboratory (cath lab). The escalating complexity and frequency of interventional procedures, such as cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions, underscore the need for innovative strategies to mitigate radiation exposure. While traditional measures like lead aprons, thyroid collars, and goggles have been pivotal in reducing radiation exposure, they have limitations, especially during prolonged and intricate procedures.

Wound healing is a complex process orchestrated by interactions between a variety of cell types, including keratinocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, inflammatory cells, and bioactive factors such as extracellular matrix (ECM) components, growth factors, and cytokines. Chronic wounds exhibit delayed proliferative phase initiation, reduced angiogenesis, impaired ECM synthesis, and persistent inflammatory response. Chronic wounds are one of the main challenges to the healthcare system worldwide, with a high cost for medical services.

Objective: Digital technologies have improved the performance of surveillance systems through early detection of outbreaks and epidemic control. The aim of this study is to introduce an outbreak detection web application called OBDETECTOR (Outbreak Detector), which as a professional web application has the ability to process weekly or daily reported data from disease surveillance systems and facilitates the early detection of disease outbreaks.
Results: OBDETECTOR generates a histogram that exhibits the trend of infection within a time range selected by the user.

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) stands out as an incredibly efficient, environmentally conscious, and fast method for obtaining essential oils (EOs) from plants. These EOs are abundant in aromatic compounds that play a crucial role in various industries such as food, fragrances, cosmetics, perfumery, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. While there is a wealth of existing literature on using supercritical fluids for extracting plant essential oils, there's still much to explore in terms of combining different techniques to enhance the SFE process.

Small non-coding RNAs (sRNAs) are a key part of gene expression regulation in bacteria. Many physiologic activities like adaptation to environmental stresses, antibiotic resistance, quorum sensing, and modulation of the host immune response are regulated directly or indirectly by sRNAs in Gram-negative bacteria. Therefore, sRNAs can be considered as potentially useful therapeutic options.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent musculoskeletal disease affecting middle-aged and elderly individuals, with knee pain as a common complaint. Standard therapy approaches generally attempt to alleviate pain and inflammation, using various pharmacological and non-pharmacological options. However, the efficacy of these therapies in long-term tissue repair remains debated.

Human error constitutes one of the primary causes of accidents, particularly in the context of loading and unloading operations involving road trucks, especially those carrying petroleum products. The process of identifying and evaluating human errors within these operations involves several key steps. Initially, all sub-tasks associated with loading and unloading are meticulously identified and analyzed utilizing Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA), achieved through direct observation, document examination, and interviews.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurological disorder characterized by cognitive decline. This study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of selegiline (SEL) against AD-induced cognitive deficits and explore the possible involved mechanisms. AD was induced by unilateral intracerebroventricular (U-ICV) injection of 5 μg of amyloid beta (Aβ), and oral administration of SEL (0.

Given that oxidative stress (OS) occurs as one of the complications of general anesthesia and surgical procedures, practicing the best and safest anesthesia regimen can have a significant share in various surgeries. So, this study compared the effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ketoprofen (KTP) and meloxicam (MLX) on OS through the glutathione pathway after the ketamine-xylazine (K-X) anesthesia and ulcer induction in rats to suggest post-operative regimens with promising analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. 80 healthy adult male Wistar rats, were examined in this study.

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common cause of dementia, leads to neurodegeneration and cognitive decline. We investigated the therapeutic effects of L-carnitine on cognitive performance and anxiety-like behavior in a rat model of AD induced by unilateral intracerebroventricular injection of β-amyloid (Aβ). L-carnitine (100 mg/kg/day) was administered intraperitoneally for 28 consecutive days.

Background: Endometriosis is associated with a wide variety of signs and symptoms and can lead to infertility, embryo death, and even miscarriage. Although the exact pathogenesis and etiology of endometriosis is still unclear, it has been shown that it has a chronic inflammatory nature and angiogenesis is also involved in it.
Objective: This review aims to explore the role of inflammation and angiogenesis in endometriosis and suggest a potential treatment targeting these pathways.
