Background: Blonanserin (BNS) is a well-tolerated and effective drug for treating schizophrenia.

Aim: To investigate which types of patients would obtain the most benefit from BNS treatment.

Methods: A total of 3306 participants were evaluated in a 12-week, prospective, multicenter, open-label post-marketing surveillance study of BNS.

However, there have been no reports on the correlation between SNPs and anxiety in Chinese.

Previous studies have demonstrated that variations in genes related to the dopamine system influence working memory. The present study thus investigated whether polymorphisms in gene were associated with working memory.

A Case Report of Porokeratosis Ptychotropica in a Chinese Man.

Porokeratosis ptychotropica is a rare form of porokeratosis characterized by dyskeratotic skin lesions around genital area or gluteal cleft. Herein, a case of porokeratosis ptychotropica was reported. The patient was a 35-year-old man, who complained of pruritic papules and plaques in the perianal and buttock region for thirteen years.

MAD1L1 and TSNARE gene polymorphisms are associated with schizophrenia susceptibility in the Han Chinese population.

But the precise relationship between HPA axis activity and depression remains unclear, in part because mostly cortisol measurement only provides reflect acute or short-term fluctuations. In this study, hair cortisol and its metabolite cortisone were measured in a prospective, pre and post follow-up study of working stress and depressive symptoms in Chinese fishermen.

Effects of music therapy on COVID-19 patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Whether music therapy improves coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality are still controversial. Therefore, to provide evidence-based medical evidence for clinical non-pharmacological interventions, we performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of music therapy for COVID-19 patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality.

Methods: Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials Repositories, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Chinese Science Citation Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and Wan-Fang database were searched to identify studies on the evaluation of the effectiveness of the music-based intervention on COVID-19 patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality from inception to May 2021.

Identification of the natural product berberine as an antiviral drug.

Drugs targeting the fusion process of viral entry into host cells have been approved for clinical use in the treatment of AIDS. There remains a great need to improve the use of existing drugs for HIV therapy. Berberine is traditionally used to treat diarrhea, bacillary dysentery, and gastroenteritis in clinics, here our research shows that berberine is effective in inhibiting HIV-1 entry.

Moderating Role of Perceived Social Support in the Relationship Between Emotion Regulation and Quality of Life in Chinese Ocean-Going Fishermen.

Perceived social support (PSS) has been shown to be positively related to self-reported quality of life (QoL) as well as to emotion regulation strategy. In the present study, we compared a QoL index between Chinese fishermen ( = 507) and local villagers ( = 192) and examined whether PSS moderates the relationship between emotion regulation and QoL in our sample of Chinese ocean-going fishermen. Fishermen's QoL was found to be poorer than that of local villagers.

Impact of CHRNA5 polymorphisms on the risk of schizophrenia in the Chinese Han population.
