Risk prediction for elderly cognitive impairment by radiomic and morphological quantification analysis based on a cerebral MRA imaging cohort.

Objective: To establish morphological and radiomic models for early prediction of cognitive impairment associated with cerebrovascular disease (CI-CVD) in an elderly cohort based on cerebral magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).

Methods: One-hundred four patients with CI-CVD and 107 control subjects were retrospectively recruited from the 14-year elderly MRA cohort, and 63 subjects were enrolled for external validation. Automated quantitative analysis was applied to analyse the morphological features, including the stenosis score, length, relative length, twisted angle, and maximum deviation of cerebral arteries.

A risk prediction model for endometrial hyperplasia/endometrial carcinoma in premenopausal women.

This study investigated the risk factors for endometrial hyperplasia (EH) and endometrial carcinoma (EC) in premenopausal women. Background: Prolonged dependence on mechanical ventilation is a common occurrence in clinical ICU patients and presents significant challenges for patient care and resource allocation. However, specific tools for predicting prolonged mechanical ventilation among ICU patients, particularly those with critical orthopaedic trauma, are currently lacking.

Evaluating the efficacy of the SENO decision framework in managing metastatic spinal disease: a comparative study.

Background Context: The management of metastatic spinal disease presents a complex challenge, with no universally accepted guidelines currently available. The altered perfusion of hypothalamus during headache caused by medication-overuse headache (MOH) was previously unknown. In the current study, the altered perfusion of hypothalamic subregions in MOH patients was investigated using state-of-the-art 3D pseudo-continuous arterial spin labeling (PCASL) MR imaging.

Background: Nutritional risk index (NRI) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) are useful prognostic markers in colorectal cancer (CRC); however, the prognostic value of a combination of the NRI and CEA, namely, the NRI and CEA score (NCS), needs further investigation.

Methods: Stage I-III CRC patients were collected and then divided into three subgroups by counting the NCS: NCS 1: high NRI with normal CEA; NCS 2: high NRI with elevated CEA or low NRI with normal CEA; and NCS 3: low NRI with elevated CEA. The differences in outcome, counted as disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS), were tested among the subgroups.

Background: Androgenic alopecia (AGA) is the most common type of hair loss in men, and there are many studies on the treatment of hair loss by platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The human scalp contains a huge microbiome, but its role in the process of hair loss remains unclear, and the relationship between PRP and the microbiome needs further study. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of PRP treatment on scalp microbiota composition.
