Background: Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) within the tumor microenvironment have been associated with cancer prognosis and therapeutic response. However, the immunological pattern of a high peritumoral TLS (pTLS) density and its clinical potential in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain poor. This study aimed to elucidate biological differences related to pTLS density and develop a radiomic classifier for predicting pTLS density in HCC, offering new insights for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Metastasis significantly contributes to the poor prognosis of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Our prior studies have demonstrated a decrease in BIRC5-206 expression in NPC, which promotes disease progression. However, the role of BIRC5-206 in the invasion and metastasis of NPC has not been fully elucidated.

Background: 5-10% of thyroid cancers are at locally advanced stage. Neoadjuvant targeted therapy will likely create surgical opportunities for these patients with unresectable or borderline resectable tumors. Pralsetinib, a RET inhibitor, has been approved for advanced or metastatic RET-altered thyroid cancer.

This study was developed to explore the prognostic relevance of radiologic extranodal extension (rENE) in lymph node-positive nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients. A retrospective review of data from 249 eligible patients with NPC was performed, with magnetic resonance imaging scans being used for rENE grading. The prognostic value of rENE was assessed through univariate and multivariate analyses.

In recent decades, the toxicity of chiral pesticides to non-target organisms has attracted increasing attention. Cellular metabolic disorders are essential sensitive molecular initiating event for toxicological effects. BF is a typical chiral pesticide, and the liver is the main organ for BF accumulation.

To estimate the impacts of different anesthetic protocols on the speed and quality of postoperative resuscitation in patients undergoing painless gastroscopy. This was a prospectively designed randomized control study that included 150 patients who underwent painless gastroscopy in Hainan Cancer Hospital affiliated to Hainan Medical College between April and December of 2023. All the patients, classified as American Society of Aneshesiologists (ASA) Grade Ⅰ or Ⅱ, were randomly divided into three groups with different anesthetic protocols, including propofol group (group P), remimazolam group (group R) and remimazolam with flumazenil group (group RF).

Thyroid cancer, as one of the most common cancers in many countries, has attracted increasing attention, but its pathogenesis is still unclear. This research explored the effects of miR-144-3p and GABRB2 on thyroid cancer cells and the underlying mechanism. Gene expression data was obtained from the GEO database to analyze differential expression of mRNAs and miRNAs in patients with thyroid cancer.

Background: The gut microbiota (GM) has been implicated in neurological disorders, but the relationship with hydrocephalus, especially the underlying mechanistic pathways, is unclear. Using Mendelian randomization (MR), we aim to discover the mediating role of inflammatory factors in the relationship between GM and hydrocephalus.
Methods: After removing confounders, univariable and multivariable MR analyses were performed using summary statistics to assess the causal relationships between GM, inflammatory factors (IL-17A and IL-27), and types of hydrocephalus.

Introduction: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in amyloid-positive (Aβ+) individuals was proposed as a clinical indicator of Stage 2 in the Alzheimer's disease (AD) continuum, but this requires further validation across cultures, measures, and recruitment strategies.
Methods: Eight hundred twenty-one participants from SILCODE and DELCODE cohorts, including normal controls (NC) and individuals with SCD recruited from the community or from memory clinics, underwent neuropsychological assessments over up to 6 years. Amyloid positivity was derived from positron emission tomography or plasma biomarkers.

MET exon 14 (METex14) skipping is the most reported MET mutation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and has been confirmed to respond to MET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) in clinical trials. While MET TKI tepotinib was recently approved for METex14 skipping NSCLC in China, real-world evidence is limited. We report our experience treating NSCLC patients referred from oncology sites across China with tepotinib in the Boao Lecheng Pilot Zone.

To investigate the role of TopBP1-interacting checkpoint and replication regulator (TICRR) in the tumorigenesis and prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients. Wilcoxon signed-rank test and logistic regression were utilized to analyze the relationship between clinical characteristics and TICRR expression in LUAD from TCGA dataset. Kaplan-Meier plots and Cox regressions were used to assess the impact of TICRR impact on prognosis.

A fluorogenic aptamer (FA)-based hybridization chain reaction (HCR) could provide a sensitive and label-free signal amplification method for imaging molecules in living cells. However, existing FA-HCR methods usually face some problems, such as a complicated design and significant background leakage, which greatly limit their application. Herein, we developed an FA-centered HCR (FAC-HCR) method based on a remote toehold-mediated strand displacement reaction.

T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is a hematologic heterogeneous disease. This study explored the mechanism of specificity protein 1/3 (Sp1/3) in T-ALL cells through β-catenin by acting as targets of miR-495-3p. Expression levels of miR-495-3p, Sp1, Sp3, and β-catenin in the serum from T-ALL children patients, healthy controls, and the T-ALL cell lines were measured.

The rapid emergence and spread of multidrug-resistant bacteria pose a serious challenge to human life and health, necessitating the development of novel antibacterial agents. Herein, to address this challenge, three iridium-based antibacterial agents were prepared and their antimicrobial activity were explored. Importantly, the three complexes all showed robust potency against with MIC values in the range of 1.
