Gastric cancer (GC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality, with a high rate of postoperative recurrence and poor long-term survival. The Eyes Absent (EYA) protein family plays a significant role in cancer progression, with EYA3 being implicated in promoting GC cell proliferation and tumor growth. Utilizing the DepMap database, we identified EYA3 as a gene of interest in GC.

Osmotic pump systems require prolonged retention time in the stomach to provide enhanced bioavailability and regulated release, which is quite challenging. This study used a three-dimensional printing (3DP) technique combined with a gastro-retentive floating device (GRFD) to extend the retention of the osmotic pump in the stomach and enhance its bioavailability. The strap-on buoyant device was fabricated by stereolithography 3DP and incorporated a felodipine osmotic pump tablet used in clinical practice, which enabled it to float in the stomach or dissolution media without any floating lag time.

  • The study examines the link between problematic Internet use (PIU) and depression in adolescents, focusing on how social connectedness (SC) and cognitive emotion regulation (CER) mediate this relationship.
  • Conducted with over 9,400 adolescents in China, findings show 21.8% prevalence of PIU, revealing that offline SC and negative CER significantly mediate the effect of PIU on depression.
  • The results emphasize the need for enhancing real-life social interactions to mitigate depressive symptoms associated with PIU, although the applicability of the findings may vary across different cultures.

Department of Cardiology, Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, School of Medicine, Tongji University, 301 Middle Yanchang Road, Shanghai, 200072, China.

Background: Hypercholesterolemia has been identified as an independent predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Inclisiran, an innovative small interfering RNA agent, is anticipated to result in a notable reduction of approximately 50% in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. Given its transformative impact, this study scrutinized the eligibility of the US population for inclisiran treatment and evaluated its potential effects on hypercholesterolemia and the primary prevention of CVD.

The study aimed to reveal the function of LXY30 peptide-modified bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (LXY30-Exos) in NSCLC. LXY30 peptide is a peptide ligand targeting α3β1 integrin, and LXY30 specifically binds to Exos derived from different cells. We use transmission electron microscopy to identify LXY30-Exos and tracking analysis for particles, and the LXY30-Exos internalized by NSCLC cells in vitro and targeted NSCLC tumours in vivo were verified by multiple molecular technologies.

A novel approach is proposed leveraging surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) combined with machine learning (ML) techniques, principal component analysis (PCA)-centroid displacement-based nearest neighbor (CDNN). This label-free approach can identify slight abnormalities between SERS spectra of gastric lesions at different stages, offering a promising avenue for detection and prevention of precancerous lesion of gastric cancer (PLGC). The agaric-shaped nanoarray substrate was prepared using gas-liquid interface self-assembly and reactive ion etching (RIE) technology to measure SERS spectra of serum from mice model with gastric lesions at different stages, and then a SERS spectral recognition model was trained and constructed using the PCA-CDNN algorithm.
