Aims: To investigate the effects of Nrf2 agonist tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ)-stimulated neural stem cells (NSCs) transplantation (NSC(TBHQ)) on neuronal damage and cognitive deficits in an AD model and its underlying principles.
Methods: BHQ-treated NSCs were examined with or without Aβ1-42 to investigate the effects of TBHQ on the proliferation and differentiation functions. The mitophagy inhibitor Cyclosporine A (CSA) was used to explore the regulation of mitophagy by TBHQ.

This study aims to observe the hemostatic and anti-inflammatory effects of intravenous administration of tranexamic acid (TXA) in dual segment posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF). The data of 53 patients with lumbar disease treated with double-segment PLIF were included in this study. The observation group was received a single-dose intravenous of TXA (1 g/100 mL) 15 min before skin incision after general anesthesia.

Intravenous application of tranexamic acid (TXA) in posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) can effectively reduce blood loss without affecting coagulation function. However, it has not been reported whether preoperative use of anticoagulants may affect the efficacy of TXA in PLIF. The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of preoperative use of anticoagulants on coagulation indicators and blood loss after PLIF receiving intravenous unit dose TXA.

Background: Patients with prolonged disorders of consciousness (pDOC) pose significant challenges to healthcare workers due to their severe motor impairments and limited interaction with the environment. Non-invasive brain stimulation such as high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) and music stimulation show promise in awakening this population.
Objective: In this study, we present a protocol aiming at investigating the efficacy of combined HD-tDCS and music stimulation in awakening patients with pDOC through a single-blind, randomized controlled trial.

Iron dysregulation is a crucial factor in the development of neurological diseases, leading to the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and oxidative stress, triggering inflammatory responses, and ultimately causing neurological impairment. Pachymic acid (PA) is an active ingredient extracted from the medicinal fungus Poria cocos, which has been reported with multiple pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti-ischemia/reperfusion, and anticancer actions. In this study, we test whether PA have neuroprotection effect aganist ferrous ions induced toxicity in SH-SY5Y cells.

Colorectal cancer is a grievous health concern, we have proved long non-coding RNA LINC00689 is considered as a potential diagnosis biomarker for colorectal cancer, and it is necessary to further investigate its upstream and downstream mechanisms. Here, we show that KLF15, a transcription factor, exhibits the reduced expression in colorectal cancer. KLF15 suppresses the proliferative and metastatic capacities of colorectal cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo by transcriptionally activating LINC00689.

Objectives: This study explored and analyzed the effect of Omaha System-based continual nursing care on the psychological status, self-esteem and quality of life in epileptic children.
Methods: 127 epileptic children hospitalized from March 2018 to September 2019 were recruited as the study cohort and stochastically divided into an observation group (n=65) and a control group (n=62). The control group children were given regular out-of-hospital guidance after discharge, and the observation-group were treated with Omaha System-based continuous nursing intervention in addition to the routine out-of-hospital guidance the control group underwent.

Objective: To compare the efficiency and complications of transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy with a 16-gauge (16G) or an 18G puncture needle in the diagnosis of PCa.
Methods: This prospective randomized controlled study included 142 male patients undergoing TRUS-guided prostate biopsy in our hospital, 71 with the 16G and the other 71 with the 18G puncture needle. We compared the post-puncture incidence rates of hematuria, bleeding and infection between the two groups of patients and classified the complications according to the Clavien-Dindo scores.

Aims: The present study is to investigate the effect of laparoscopic surgery on the proliferation and metastasis of cervical cancer cells.
Methods: A total of 40 patients with phase I squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix were enrolled in the study, and divided evenly into laparoscopic surgery group and laparotomy group. In addition, another 20 patients with benign uterine lesions received laparoscopic panhysterectomy using celoscopes and were enrolled as control group.
