Background: Activating mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene occur in 7% to 23% of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A small proportion of these (3-5%) are exon 18 mutations. Neratinib, an irreversible pan-HER tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), had activity in the phase II SUMMIT basket study.

Introduction: During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, midwives worked in a threatening environment and worried about themselves and their families becoming infected. Self-compassion is defined as an attitude of self-kindness that is supported by a balanced attitude toward negative thoughts or feelings and may contribute to the psychosocial health and well-being. The purpose of this study was to describe midwives' self-compassion, psychosocial health, and well-being and the correlation between them.

Purpose: Our objective was to design an automated deep learning model that extracts the morphokinetic events of embryos that were recorded by time-lapse incubators. Using automated annotation, we set out to characterize the temporal heterogeneity of preimplantation development across a large number of embryos.
Methods: To perform a retrospective study, we used a dataset of video files of 67,707 embryos from four IVF clinics.

Aging is associated with increasing impairments in brain homeostasis and represents the main risk factor across most neurodegenerative disorders. Melatonin, a neuroendocrine hormone that regulates mammalian chronobiology and endocrine functions is well known for its antioxidant potential, exhibiting both cytoprotective and chronobiotic abilities. Age-related decline of melatonin disrupting mitochondrial homeostasis and cytosolic DNA-mediated inflammatory reactions in neurons is a major contributory factor in the emergence of neurological abnormalities.

Purpose: Infantile colic (IC) or fussing and crying behavior of unknown cause, affects up to 20% of the infant population and is one of the major reasons for parents to seek medical advice. Therapeutic options are limited and the key component for IC management is parental support. Fennel-based herbal treatments were shown to significantly reduce crying time.

Irrigation with reclaimed wastewater is a growing practice aimed at conserving freshwater sources, especially in arid and semiarid regions. Despite the apparent advantages to water management, the practice of irrigation with reclaimed wastewater exposes the agroenvironment to contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). In this report, we estimated the unintentional dietary exposure of the Israeli population (2808 participants) to CECs from consumption of produce irrigated with reclaimed wastewater using detailed dietary data obtained from a National Health and Nutrition Survey (Rav Mabat adults; 2014-2016).

Objectives: Intraoperative fluorescence imaging is currently used in a variety of surgical fields for four main purposes: assessing tissue perfusion; identifying/localizing cancer; mapping lymphatic systems; and visualizing anatomy. To establish evidence-based guidance for research and practice, understanding the state of research on fluorescence imaging in different surgical fields is needed. We evaluated the evidence on fluorescence imaging for perfusion assessments using the Idea, Development, Exploration, Assessment, Long Term Study (IDEAL) framework, which was designed for describing the stages of innovation in surgery and other interventional procedures.

Hair loss and predominantly female hair loss is a common dermatologic condition with serious psychosocial consequences. Effective treatments remain scarce mainly due to the multifactorial elements involved in the onset of this chronic condition. The approved drugs available are based on molecules designed towards a single pharmacological target and do not interact with the various biochemical mechanisms involved in alopecia.

Objectives: To determine if PF-88, a reverse thermo-responsive polymer designed to create a gel at body temperature and liquefy at a lower temperature (21°C) can reversibly occlude the fallopian tubes in rabbits.
Study Design: Mature female New Zealand White rabbits underwent laparotomy and placement of 22-gage catheter into the lumen of the distil uterine horns for evaluation of tubal patency by fluoroscopy using radio opaque contrast and treatment with PF-88. In the Acute Phase group (n = 5) after PF-88 treatment we immediately cooled the serosal surface of the tube with ice for 90 seconds to liquify the gel then reassessed patency.

Background: It is unclear whether sperm origin, either ejaculated or testicular, in couples diagnosed with male factor infertility, affects the timing of the embryo's developmental events evaluated by time-lapse monitoring and implantation rates.
Objective: To examine the effect of sperm origin on embryo morphokinetics in couples diagnosed with male factor infertility.
Materials And Methods: This study included a retrospective analysis of morphokinetic parameters performed by time-lapse monitoring between 2013 and 2017.

Hydrolyzed collagen consists of peptides, which exert important biological functions in different body systems. This study aimed at testing the biological effects of a low molecular weight collagen (LMWC), namely Shore Magic® Collagen (SMC), in a series of assays and three different barrier models with translational significance. We also compared SMC's biological activities with its trypsinized form (TSMC).

Importance: Visual acuity (VA) outcomes differ considerably among patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) treated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs. Identification of pharmacogenetic associations may help clinicians understand the mechanisms underlying this variability as well as pave the way for personalized treatment in nAMD.
Objective: To identify genetic factors associated with variability in the response to anti-VEGF therapy for patients with nAMD.

Background: Simulation-based training improves residents' skills for end-of-life (EOL) care. In the field, staff providers play a significant role in handling those situations and in shaping practice by role modeling. We initiated an educational intervention to train healthcare providers for improved communication skills at EOL using simulation of sensitive encounters with patients and families.

Background: Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common neuro-developmental disorder in childhood. Its pharmacologic treatment mostly includes methylphenidate, yet many parents seek alternative, "natural," therapeutic options, commonly omega-3 fatty acids. Previous studies of supplementation with fish oil or long-chain omega-3 fatty acids to children with ADHD yielded mixed results.

Aim: Pregnancy and delivery are affected by and - in turn - impact signs and symptoms of Gaucher disease (GD). Prior to enzyme replacement therapy (ERT), the reported missed abortions rate was 25%, with worsening of anemia and thrombocytopenia, with increased frequency of post-partum hemorrhage, puerperal fever and bone crises during pregnancy. ERT with imiglucerase reduced these adverse events.

Advanced melanoma cells, characterized by resistance to chemotherapy, have been shown to be highly sensitive to oncolysis by Newcastle disease virus (NDV). In the present study, we investigated the capacity of NDV to specifically infect and spread into solid tissues of human melanoma and lung carcinoma, in vivo and ex vivo. For this purpose a new model of SCID-beige mice implanted with human melanoma was developed.

Synovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint was diagnosed and location of dens particles was assessed by means of computed tomography. Based upon the data collected, the joint was operated conservatively and most of the calcifications were removed leaving the patient symptom free. The importance of an accurate preoperative diagnosis of synovial chondromatosis by use of CT scan is stressed in view of numerous unnecessary condylectomies and parotidectomies reported in the literature.
