Is there a risk of developmental problems in infants born to mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus and/or pre-eclampsia?

Objective: The aims of this study were (i) to describe the early spontaneous movements in 3-to 5-month-old infants in groups of infants born to mothers with GDM and/or PE, (ii) to compare them, and (iii) to analyze the differences between infants with these risk factors and typically developing infants born to mothers without GDM and/or PE and other risk factors.

Methods: This cohort study included 255 infants in 4 groups: (i) 96 infants born to mothers with GDM, (ii) 78 infants born to mothers with PE, (iii) 31 infants born to mothers with GDM and PE, and (iv) 50 typically developing infants. Early spontaneous movements, including not only fidgety movements but also concurrent movement and postural patterns, were assessed using the General Movements Assessment (GMA), which determines the Motor Optimality Score-Revised (MOS-R).

Background: This study reviewed the role of occupational therapist's in palliative and hospice care over the past 20 years.

Methods: A scoping review following Arksey and O'Malley's five stages was undertaken using PubMed, OTseeker, Scopus, Elsevier, Cochrane Library-Medline, CINAHL, PsychInfo, Web of Science and Google Scholar.

Results: A total of 41 articles were reviewed.

COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Among Various Segments of the Population in Turkey: A Literature Review.

Vaccine hesitancy, which refers to the reluctance to be vaccinated, poses a major risk to public health in preventing infectious diseases. This hesitancy has been evident for many years, especially regarding childhood vaccines. The main factors contributing to this hesitancy include religious or personal beliefs, concerns about safety and efficacy, and desire to receive more information from healthcare providers.

Evaluation of the effects of the third molar on distalization and the effects of attachments on distalization and expansion with clear aligners: Three-dimensional finite element study.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of attachment design on maxillary molar distalization and simultaneous expansion during distalization, and the influence of third molars on distalization in the clear aligner technique using the finite element method.

Methods: Six models were created to evaluate three different attachment designs on the second molars. Model I: employed a vertical rectangular attachment; Model II: used a vertical rectangular attachment with the presence of the third molar; Model III: used a combined semi-elliptical attachment; and Model IV: featured an opposed semi-elliptical attachment with buccal and palatal components.

Nephrectomy in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease: A consensus statement of the ERA Genes & Kidney Working Group.

A substantial number of patients with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) undergo a nephrectomy, especially in work-up for a kidney transplantation. Currently, there is no evidence-based algorithm to guide clinicians which patients should undergo nephrectomy, the optimal timing of this procedure, or the preferred surgical technique. This systematic review-based consensus statement aimed to answer important questions regarding nephrectomy in ADPKD.

Fronto-orbital advancement: Comparison of syndromic and nonsyndromic craniosynostosis patients.

Craniosynostosis causes functional and aesthetic problems that require fronto-orbital advancement in patients to correct the cranial deformity and to prevent functional problems due to increased intracranial pressure (ICP). In this study, demographic information, operative details, preoperative clinical findings, and postoperative outcomes were reviewed for 106 craniosynostosis patients with at least 1 year of follow-up. Many factors such as functional losses due to increased ICP before surgery, resynostosis, fronto-orbital relapse, surgical complications and aesthetic results were compared in syndromic and non-syndromic patients.

Amino acids can play distinct roles in various cellular processes, and their abnormal levels are associated with pathological conditions, including cancer. The effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on survival outcomes in patients with variant histologies who underwent radical cystectomy with precystectomy diagnostic accuracy: A multicenter study of the Turkish Urooncology Association.

Objectives: To evaluate the role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in the final treatment plan and its impact on survival in bladder cancer patients who were diagnosed with variant histology in the radical cystectomy specimen and whose diagnostic accuracy was achieved with the previous transurethral resection of the bladder specimen.

Methods: In this retrospective multicenter study, data from 221 patients across 9 centers were analyzed between January 2012 and January 2022.
