This case series aims to elaborate and discuss the use of the quad helix, a type of slow maxillary expansion appliance in the mixed dentition period in three different clinical scenarios. Especially, in the field of pediatric dentistry, mixed dentition is the most critical stage in the development of occlusion and any malocclusion that can be corrected by the simple appliance in this stage is recommended. The appliance selection is one of the most important steps in the process of treatment planning to obtain the desired result.

Dentoalveolar ankylosis in growing patients is associated with continuing replacement root resorption, tooth infrapositioning, and the local arrest of alveolar bone growth. While extraction of ankylosed teeth might be associated with bone loss, decoronation of the offending tooth (removal of crown portion and instrumentation of pulp canal to stimulate bleeding) has been suggested as a more conservative approach of bone preservation until definitive implant placement is planned. This is a case presentation of a 14-year-old patient who presented with root resorption in relation to the left maxillary central incisor such that decoronation with a prosthetic tooth replacement was decided as the treatment option.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term clinical and radiologic results of the retromandibular transparotid approach to displaced extracapsular subcondylar mandibular fractures.
Patients And Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted over a period of 5 years on patients surgically treated for displaced extracapsular subcondylar mandibular fractures by the retromandibular transparotid approach. Variables including the type of fracture, degree of mouth opening, fracture displacement, deviation, excursive movements of the mandible, and facial nerve function were monitored before and after treatment.
