Perpendicular magnetization switching by a magnetic-field-free, energy-efficient electrical approach has remained a great challenge. Here, we demonstrate the realization of robust magnetic-field-free perpendicular magnetization switching in the (101)RuO/[Pt/Co/Pt] heterojunction by manipulating the spin polarization direction. We proposed that the relative strength of out-of-plane spin currents with out-of-plane spin polarization and in-plane spin polarization can be effectively manipulated by tuning the nominal thickness of [Pt/Co/Pt] multilayers and the direction of applied electric current with respect to the RuO crystal orientation.

Non-standard amino acid incorporation into thiol dioxygenases.

Methods Enzymol

September 2024

Department of Chemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI, United States. Electronic address:

Thiol dioxygenases (TDOs) are non‑heme Fe(II)‑dependent enzymes that catalyze the O-dependent oxidation of thiol substrates to their corresponding sulfinic acids. Six classes of TDOs have thus far been identified and two, cysteine dioxygenase (CDO) and cysteamine dioxygenase (ADO), are found in eukaryotes. All TDOs belong to the cupin superfamily of enzymes, which share a common β‑barrel fold and two cupin motifs: G(X)HXH(X)E(X)G and G(X)PXG(X)H(X)N.

For two Polish state spaces E and E, and an operator G, we obtain existence and uniqueness of a G-martingale problem provided there is a bounded continuous duality function H on E×E together with a dual process Y on E which is the unique solution of a G-martingale problem. For the corresponding solutions [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] , duality with respect to a function H in its simplest form means that the relation E[H(X,y)]=E[H(x,Y)] holds for all (x,y)∈E×E and t≥0. While duality is well-known to imply uniqueness of the G-martingale problem, we give here a set of conditions under which duality also implies existence without using approximating sequences of processes of a different kind (e.

ConspectusTwo-dimensional materials have been a focus of study for decades, resulting in the development of a library of nanosheets made by a variety of methods. However, many of these atomically thin materials are exfoliated from van der Waals (vdW) compounds, which inherently have weaker bonding between layers in the bulk crystal. Even though there are diverse properties and structures within this class of compounds, it would behoove the community to look beyond these compounds toward the exfoliation of non-vdW compounds as well.
