Introduction Fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) have the potential in glaucoma management to improve efficacy due to the complementary mechanism of action of the drugs as well as compliance while reducing adverse effects by minimizing exposure to preservatives and the financial burden on the patients. FDC of brinzolamide/timolol has demonstrated efficacy and safety in multinational phase 3 studies in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and ocular hypertension. However, efficacy and safety in the Indian population are not known.

Background: Teleophthalmology provides an opportunity to conduct consultations in far-flung and remote areas that have no access to specialized eye care. However, there is a paucity of studies to assess the effect of missing in-person follow-up on initial postoperative visits. The study thus aims to compare postoperative satisfaction and uncorrected distance visual activity after an uneventful phacoemulsification cataract surgery in patients with teleconsultation approach to those with hospital visit.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of severe loss of central vision among people over 50. The pathophysiology of the disease is multifactorial and can be attributed to genetics, aging, inflammation, environmental factors, and lifestyle factors including smoking, diet, obesity, and alcohol consumption. While there is no treatment for dry AMD, the current standard treatment for wet AMD is an intraocular injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor-an effective, yet expensive, therapy that requires ongoing treatment.

Purpose: Inter-clinician variation could cause uncertainty in disease management. This is reported to be high in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a potentially blinding retinal disease affecting premature infants. Machine learning has the potential to quantify the differences in decision-making between ROP specialists and trainees and may improve the accuracy of diagnosis.

Cataracts with coexisting corneal opacities due to various causes present a daunting challenge to surgeons. Adding to the plight could be factors like shallow anterior chamber, small pupil and mono-ocular patient. A manual small-incision cataract surgery (MSICS) could be a saviour in such situations.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is the leading cause of preventable infant blindness in the world and predominantly affects babies who are born low birth weight and premature. India has the largest number of surviving preterm births born annually. ROP blindness can be largely prevented if there is a robust screening program which detects treatment requiring disease in time.

Fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography have been the traditional ways to image the vasculature of the iris in the last few decades. Because of the invasive nature of these procedures, they are performed in rare situations, and thus, our understanding about iris vasculature is very limited. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is a noninvasive imaging method that enables the detailed visualization of the retinal and choroidal vascular networks.
