Prediction tools used with young populations have the potential to reduce the worldwide burden of depression.

Assessing local service providers' needs for scaling up MHPSS interventions for Ukrainian refugees: Insights from Poland, Slovakia, and Romania.

Providing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support interventions (MHPSS) for forcibly displaced Ukrainians in Central and Eastern Europe poses numerous challenges due to various socio-cultural and infrastructural factors. This qualitative study explored implementation barriers reported by service providers of in-person and digital MHPSS for Ukrainian refugees displaced to Poland, Romania and Slovakia due to the war. In addition, the study aimed to generate recommendations to overcome these barriers.

Improving Antibiotic Use in Argentine Pediatric Hospitals: A Process Evaluation Using Normalization Process Theory.

Introduction: In the pediatric setting, overprescribing of antibiotics contributes to the rise of multidrug-resistant organisms. Antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs) are recommended to optimize antibiotic use and combat resistance. The aim of the present study was to determine the association of vitamin D (VD) and cathelicidin levels with sepsis and septic shock in PPCs with FN. A prospective cohort of PPCs with FN who had previously received cytotoxic chemotherapy was analyzed.

Background: Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is the standard treatment for acute myocardial infarction (MI). This study aimed to investigate the use of DAPT and de-escalation after discharge in real-world practice among patients with acute MI undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Taiwan.

Methods: Using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database, we included patients who received PCI for acute MI and survived to discharge with DAPT from 2011 to 2021.

Genetic and environmental factors jointly determine the susceptibility to develop multiple sclerosis (MS). Improvements in the design of epidemiological studies have helped to identify consistent environmental risk associations such as the increased susceptibility for MS following Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, while biological mechanisms that drive the association between EBV and MS remain incompletely understood. An increased and broadened repertoire of antibody and T-cell immune responses to EBV-encoded antigens, especially to the dominant CD4 T-cell EBV nuclear antigen 1 (EBNA1), is consistently observed in patients with MS, indicating that protective EBV-specific immune responses are deregulated in MS and potentially contribute to disease development.

Dysfunction in fear and stress responses is intrinsically linked to various neurological diseases, including anxiety disorders, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Previous studies using in vivo models with Immediate-Extinction Deficit (IED) and Stress Enhanced Fear Learning (SEFL) protocols have provided valuable insights into these mechanisms and aided the development of new therapeutic approaches. Advancements and applications of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular imaging: a comprehensive review.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming cardiovascular imaging by offering advancements across multiple modalities, including echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography (CCT), cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), interventional cardiology, nuclear medicine, and electrophysiology. This review explores the clinical applications of AI within each of these areas, highlighting its ability to improve patient selection, reduce image acquisition time, enhance image optimization, facilitate the integration of data from different imaging modality and clinical sources, improve diagnosis and risk stratification. Moreover, we illustrate both the advantages and the limitations of AI across these modalities, acknowledging that while AI can significantly aid in diagnosis, risk stratification, and workflow efficiency, it cannot replace the expertise of cardiologists.

Adhesive hydrogels, composed of hydrophilic polymers arranged in a three-dimensional network, have emerged as a pivotal innovation in ophthalmology due to their ability to securely adhere to ocular tissues while providing sustained therapeutic effects. The eye, with its delicate structure and specific needs, presents unique challenges for drug delivery and tissue regeneration. This review explores the transformative potential of adhesive hydrogels in addressing these challenges across a range of ocular conditions, including corneal injuries, cataracts, glaucoma, vitreoretinal disorders, and ocular trauma.

Marchiafava-Bignami disease (MBD) is a rare condition characterized by demyelination and necrosis of the corpus callosum, most commonly associated with chronic alcohol consumption. However, it can also occur in non-alcoholic patients and may present secondary to other underlying conditions. We report a case of a 52-year-old male with no history of alcohol use or significant comorbidities, presenting with impaired consciousness and severe malnutrition.

Kaleidoscopic Chloroma: An Unusual Case of Myeloid Sarcoma.

We report a 37-year-old male patient who had nonbilious vomiting, no passage of flatus, and recurring abdominal pain. This patient had de novo intestinal myeloid sarcoma (MS), a rare and chameleonic presentation of acute leukemia of myeloid origin. The initial diagnostic evaluation suggested Koch's abdomen, and surgical excision of the bowel was performed with a clinical suspicion of Koch's or lymphoma.

Periventricular Nodular Heterotopias Induced-Seizures in an Adolescent.

A female adolescent with no relevant past history was admitted to the Pediatric Emergency Department with two episodes of seizures without trauma, fever, or other symptoms. Head-MRI revealed bilateral subependymal nodular irregularities lining the lateral ventricles, with similar signal evolution to grey matter, confirming the diagnosis of periventricular nodular heterotopias (PVNH). Genetic testing revealed a Filamin A ( variant; family studies were negative.

Cleft palate, congenital heart disease, and developmental delay involving heterozygous mutations found in the patient with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: a case report.

This case is the first reported patient with a gene mutation who primarily exhibits pronounced inattention as the main manifestation and is diagnosed with ADHD, requiring methylphenidate treatment. It is characterized by unique clinical features that set it apart from previously reported cases with mutations in the gene. Here, we report a female child with a diagnosis of ADHD and comorbidities.

Introduction: Retrograde ejaculation (RE) consists of the reflux backwards, towards the bladder, of the ejaculate, during the emission phase of ejaculation, causing a total or partial absence of sperm emission, with the consequent diversion of semen into the bladder during the emission phase of ejaculation. Evaluating the ejaculate may not be sufficient for identifying RE in some patients. Hence, the management of infertility may involve the use of invasive methods such as epididymal fluid retrieval or testicular biopsy.

Emodin induced hepatic steatosis in BALb/c mice by modulating the gut microbiota composition and fatty acid metabolism.

Introduction: The aim of this study is to examine the physiological effects of emodin on intestinal microorganisms and the liver in the BALb/c mice.

Method And Results: Following an 8-week administration of emodin at doses of 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg/day,pathological analyses revealed that emodin significantly reduced the colon length, induced colonic crypt inflammation,diminished the colonic mucus layer,and decreased the fluorescence intensity of colonic tight junction proteins ZO-1 and Occludin. Concurrently, 16S rDNA gene sequencing corroborated that emodin altered the diversity and composition of the intestinal microbiota by increasing the to ratio.

The INDIGO study demonstrated that vorasidenib, a pan-mIDH inhibitor, improved progression-free survival for patients with grade 2 mIDH gliomas following surgical resection or biopsy compared to placebo and was well tolerated.
