Introduction: French medical students can access occupational medicine after passing the residency examination. Few studies have looked at the lack of attractiveness of occupational medicine, contributing to the demographic decline of occupational physicians (OPs). The purpose of this study was to explore the stereotypes of OPs by their colleagues at different levels of formation to understand the determinants of the current lack of attractiveness.

Introduction And Objectives: The optimal antithrombotic therapy (AT) after left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) is debated. We assessed the impact of intensive vs nonintensive AT on the incidence of device-related thrombus (DRT) based on whether the device implantation was classified as optimal or suboptimal.
Methods: This study included patients who underwent successful LAAC in 9 centers.

The discovery of endothelial progenitor cells has revolutionized our understanding of postnatal blood vessel formation, with endothelial colony-forming cells (ECFCs) emerging as key players in vasculogenesis. Among various ECFC sources, cord blood-derived ECFCs (CB-ECFCs) are of particular interest due to their superior proliferative and clonogenic potential and their ability to promote vascular network formation. Human embryonic stem cell-derived endothelial cells (hESC-ECs) have also shown potential in regenerative medicine, though their vasculogenic efficacy remains unclear compared to CB- and adult blood-derived ECFCs (AB-ECFCs).

Background: Abbreviated antiplatelet therapy (APT) reduces bleeding without increasing ischemic events in largely unselected high bleeding risk (HBR) patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with higher ischemic risk, and its impact on the safety and effectiveness of abbreviated APT in HBR PCI patients remains unknown.
Objectives: This study sought to investigate the comparative effectiveness of abbreviated (1 month) vs standard (≥3 months) APT in HBR patients with and without DM after biodegradable polymer sirolimus-eluting coronary stent implantation.

Objectives: The Newcastle Sjogren's Stratification Tool (NSST) stratifies Sjogren's disease patients into four subtypes. Understanding the stability of the subtypes is vital if symptom-based stratification is to be more broadly adopted. In this study, we stratify patients longitudinally to understand how symptom-based subtypes vary over time and factors influencing subtype change.

Introduction: Primary liver cancer (PLC) occupied the 6th and 3rd place in the world respectively in terms of incidence and mortality in 2020. The objective of this work was to study the survival and prognostic factors of primary liver cancer from 2014 to 2020 in Cotonou.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 150 patients registered with primary liver cancer, in the database of the Cotonou Cancer Registry, over a seven-years period from 01/01/2014 to 12/31/2020.

Objective: Various gonadotropins are used for ovarian stimulation (OS). This study investigated the cost-effectiveness of different gonadotropins based on real-world data from the French National Health Database (SNDS) over a 7-year follow-up of assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatments.
Design: Cost-effectiveness analysis of different gonadotropins based on real-world data from the SNDS was conducted.

Background: To examine the psychometrics properties of the French version of two scales measuring general (HLS-Q12) and navigational (HLS-NAV) health literacy (HL) using validation methods based on modern psychometric test theories: a Rasch model analysis.
Methods: The data on representative samples of the French adult population came from the Health Literacy Survey (N = 2 003), conducted in France in two waves (2020 and 2021), and from the third wave of SLAVACO study (N = 2 022), conducted in December 2021. A Rasch analysis was performed using a partial credit model with marginal maximum likelihood estimation adapted to polytomous data.
An open prospective, multicenter study enrolled 48 selected patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia who achieved complete response for 1 year on thrombopoietin receptor agonists, half of the patients maintained a sustained response off treatment 4 years after treatment discontinuation. NCT03119974.

Background: Despite improvement in devices, in-stent restenosis remains a frequent and challenging complication of percutaneous coronary interventions.
Methods And Results: The RESTO (Morphological Parameters of In-Stent Restenosis Assessed and Identified by OCT [Optical Coherence Tomography]; study NCT04268875) was a prospective multicenter registry including patients presenting with coronary syndromes related to in-stent restenosis. All patients underwent preintervention OCT analysis, which led to analysis of in-stent restenosis phenotype, number of strut layers, and presence of stent underexpansion.

Purpose: The ability to generate natural killer (NK) cells from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) has given rise to new possibilities for the large-scale production of homogeneous immunotherapeutic cellular products and opened new avenues towards the creation of "off-the-shelf" cancer immunotherapies. However, the differentiation of NK cells from iPSCs remains poorly understood, particularly regarding the ontogenic landscape of iPSC-derived NK (iNK) cells produced and the influence that the differentiation strategy employed may have on the iNK profile.
Methods: To investigate this question, we conducted a comparative analysis of two sets of iNK cells generated from the same iPSC line using two different protocols: (i) a short-term, clinically compatible feeder-free protocol corresponding to primitive hematopoiesis, and (ii) a lymphoid-based protocol representing the definitive hematopoietic step.

Background And Hypothesis: The ageing of the population with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases the complexity of care pathways. Our aim was to identify subgroups of older people according to predialysis care pathways and describe their association with early morbidity-mortality after transition to dialysis.
Methods: This study included 22,128 incident dialysis patients aged ≥ 75 years during 2009-2017 from the French nationwide registry linked to the National Health Data System.

Background: Maternal exposure to unfavourable social conditions is associated with a higher rate of perinatal complications, such as placental vascular pathologies. A higher risk of preterm birth (PTB) has also been reported, and variations across studies and settings suggest that different patterns may be involved in this association.
Objective: To assess the association between maternal social deprivation and PTB (overall and by phenotype).

Background: Improvements in oxygenation and lung mechanics with prone position (PP) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) are inconstant. The objectives of the study were (i) to identify baseline variables, including the recruitment-to-inflation ratio (R/I), associated with a positive response to PP in terms of oxygenation (improvement of the ratio of arterial oxygen partial pressure over the inspired oxygen fraction (PaO/FiO) ≥ 20 mmHg) and lung mechanics; (ii) to evaluate whether the response to the previous PP session is associated with the response to the next session.
Methods: In this prospective, observational, single-center study in patients who underwent PP for ARDS due to COVID-19, respiratory variables were assessed just before PP and at the end of the session.

Gene therapy is being successfully developed for the treatment of several genetic disorders. Various methods of gene transfer have been developed to enable the production of the deficient enzyme or protein. One of the most important is adeno-associated virus vectors, which have been shown to be viable for use in in vivo gene therapy.

The main limitation to long-term lung transplant (LT) survival is chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), which leads to irreversible lung damage and significant mortality. Individual factors can impact CLAD, but no large genetic investigation has been conducted to date. We established the multicentric Genetic COhort in Lung Transplantation (GenCOLT) biobank from a rich and homogeneous sub-part of COLT cohort.
