In-hospital outcomes after acute myocardial infarction with obstructive coronary artery disease in critically ill patients hospitalized for non-cardiac disease.

Ann Intensive Care

September 2023

Service de Médecine Intensive Réanimation, Département Médico-Universitaire APPROCHES, Hôpital Tenon, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), Sorbonne Université, Paris, France.

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the major cardiac complications in patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) for non-cardiac disease. A better knowledge of ischemic and bleeding risks in these patients is needed to identify those most likely to benefit from specific cardiac management. We therefore assessed the incidence and predictors of a composite outcome of severe ischemic event (AMI recurrence, ischemic stroke), major bleeding, or all-cause death in this setting.

A renewed interest in the use of psychedelics for treating obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) has emerged in the last 20 years. But pre-clinical and clinical evidence remain scarce, and little is known about the factor determining the magnitude and persistence of the therapeutic effect. We therefore designed a retrospective online survey to explore, in the general population using psychoactive drugs, their impact on OCD symptoms.

November 2023

Division of Adult Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, University Hospitals of Geneva, 2, Chemin du Petit-Bel-Air, CH-1226, Thonex, Switzerland. Electronic address:

Psilocybin is increasingly studied for its antidepressant effect, but its optimal dosage for depression remains unclear. We conducted a systematic review and a dose-response meta-analysis to find the optimal dosage of psilocybin to reduce depression scores. Following our protocol (CRD 42022220190) multiple electronic databases were searched from their inception until February 2023, to identify double-blind randomized placebo-controlled (RCTs) fixed-dose trials evaluating the use of psilocybin for adult patients with primary or secondary depression.

Even though obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of the ten most disabling diseases according to the WHO, only 30-40% of patients suffering from OCD seek specialized treatment. The currently available psychotherapeutic and pharmacological approaches, when properly applied, prove ineffective in about 10% of cases. The use of neuromodulation techniques, especially Deep Brain Stimulation, is highly promising for these clinical pictures and knowledge in this domain is constantly evolving.

The Sapap3 mouse reconsidered as a comorbid model expressing a spectrum of pathological repetitive behaviours.

Transl Psychiatry

January 2023

Team "Neurophysiology of Repetitive Behaviours", Sorbonne Université, Institut du Cerveau - Paris Brain Institute - ICM, Inserm, CNRS, AP-HP, Hôpital de la Pitié Salpêtrière, Paris, France.

Symptom comorbidity is present amongst neuropsychiatric disorders with repetitive behaviours, complicating clinical diagnosis and impeding appropriate treatments. This is of particular importance for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Tourette syndrome. Here, we meticulously analysed the behaviour of Sapap3 knockout mice, the recent rodent model predominantly used to study compulsive-like behaviours, and found that its behaviour is more complex than originally and persistently described.

Background: Necrotizing skin and soft tissue infections (NSTIs) are rare but serious and rapidly progressive infections characterized by necrosis of subcutaneous tissue, fascia and even muscle. The care pathway of patients with NSTIs is poorly understood. A better characterization of the care trajectory of these patients and a better identification of patients at risk of a complicated evolution, requiring prolonged hospitalization, multiple surgical re-interventions, or readmission to the intensive care unit (ICU), is an essential prerequisite to improve their care.
