Distal humerus fractures in subjects over 65 years old: about 62 cases in Moroccan population.

Distal humerus fractures, defined as interruptions of bone continuity below the insertion of the anterior brachial muscle, are relatively rare, representing 1 to 2% of all fractures. These fractures display a bimodal distribution, predominantly affecting young men (12-19 years old) due to violent trauma and elderly women (>80 years old) due to low-energy trauma associated with osteoporosis. This study aims to present the clinical, radiological, and therapeutic outcomes of distal humerus fractures in subjects over 65 years.

Background: In Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), pulmonary involvement is one of the most frequent extra-articular manifestations. Several studies have demonstrated an association between RA-related lung disease and the positivity of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibodies.

Objective: Our aim is to describe the frequency of pulmonary involvement in the RA population and investigate the association between anti-CCP antibodies and diverse lung compartment involvement in RA patients.

Enhanced head and neck radiotherapy target definition through multidisciplinary delineation and peer review: A prospective single-center study.

This study evaluates the benefit of weekly delineation and peer review by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) of radiation oncologists (ROs), radiologists (RXs), and nuclear medicine (NM) physicians in defining primary and lymph node tumor volumes (GTVp and GTVn) for head and neck cancer (HNC) radiotherapy. This study includes 30 consecutive HNC patients referred for definitive curative (chemo)-radiotherapy. Imaging data including head and neck MRI, [18F]-FDG-PET and CT scan were evaluated by the MDT.

Primary Cutaneous Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma: A Misdiagnosed Tumor.

Primary cutaneous adenoid cystic carcinoma (PCACC) is a rare, slow-growing adnexal skin tumor with about 250 documented cases. We present a case involving a 66-year-old woman who was treated with ovulation inductors 30 years ago and underwent surgeries for meningioma 20 years ago and invasive galactophoric adenocarcinoma of the left breast 12 years ago. She presented with a gradually enlarging, solid, skin-colored tumor on her scalp, located along an old surgical scar initially diagnosed as a keloid by her surgeon.

Introduction Respiratory manifestations are common among patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and can present as chest pain, dyspnea, and cough and are often accompanied by fever. These symptoms can resemble those of COVID-19, which may cause increased anxiety in SLE patients. Nous rapportons un cas pédiatrique âgé de 13 ans présentant des brides rétractiles au niveau des deux pieds, négligées depuis 10 ans et responsables d'une déformation très importante, avec désaxation marquée des orteils. Le patient souffrait d'une importante limitation des activités et d'une impossibilité de chaussage.

This study aims to remind clinicians of fluoroquinolone-related tendinopathies. They are rare side effects, but which can result in functional disability. We report the case of a 79-year-old woman with a 11-year history of haemodialysis who had sudden left ankle pain and functional impairment in the ipsilateral member on day 5 after self-medication with ciprofloxacin.

Open window thoracostomy for a chronic calcified pleural empyema in the setting of a closed chest trauma.

This case report is a chronic calcified pleural empyema in a patient who suffered a closed chest trauma 30 years ago. The first goal is to demonstrate how the closed chest trauma caused a bronchopleural fistula of the calcified pleural empyema, since the patient began to report continued purulent sputum after his trauma with weight loss and the appearance of an air-fluid level in the chest CT scan (no pleurocutaneous fistula in the clinical examination). The second goal is to reveal the rule and the interest of an open window thoracostomy in the management of chronic calcified pleural empyema, since a decortication remains difficult to perform in cases like this one.
