Introduction: Fibroids are the most common benign uterine tumors. There are different possibilities for surgical approaches, and evaluating the cost of these operations is fundamental in modern surgery. The aim of our study is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of robotic-assisted myomectomy (RAM) compared to open myomectomy (OM) in France.

Parasitic leiomyoma (PL) develops when fragments of a morcellated uterine leiomyoma, during procedures such as laparoscopic myomectomy (LM) or total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), adhere to other tissues. We recently encountered a case where PL developed in the mesentery of the sigmoid colon following TLH. A 51-year-old woman had previously undergone TLH with in-abdominal morcellation.

Purpose: Postoperative pain is an acute pain that begins with surgical trauma and decreases as the tissue heals. The transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is one of the abdominal field blocks used in the treatment of acute postoperative pain after lower abdominal surgery. This study aims to investigate the effects of dexamethasone added to a local anesthetic solution on postoperative analgesia in ultrasonography-guided TAP block.

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors, arising from uterine smooth muscle cells. They are one of the most common benign tumors of the female genital tract among childbearing women, occurring in 20%-50% of women of reproductive age. The association of uterine myomas with pregnancy is high.

Parasitic myoma is a relatively rare disease in which one or more leiomyomas form outside the uterus; however, the detailed causes are unknown. Few sporadic reports are available, and per our research, the maximum number of parasitic myomas reported to date was 26, and almost all cases were treated by surgical resection. We report a rare case of numerous parasitic myomas in the abdominal cavity, possibly including an intrathoracic lesion, which could not be resected completely.

Currently, morcellation is discouraged owing to the risk of disseminating undetected malignancies. This study aims to update the prevalence data on occult malignancies in surgeries for suspected benign uterine lesions and analyze the impact of treatment strategies on survival outcomes in patients with occult malignancies.

Uterine adenomyosis is a common disease in women of reproductive age that causes dysmenorrhea, abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, and obstetric complications. Rarely, adenomyosis can lead to abscess formation, which is refractory to antibiotics and occasionally requires surgical treatment, such as hysterectomy. However, hysterectomy should be avoided in patients who seek to preserve fertility.

This study aimed to compare the postoperative analgesic efficacy, opioid consumption, quality of postoperative recovery (QOR) and adverse reactions of intravenous coinjection of lidocaine and dexmedetomidine versus lidocaine or dexmedetomidine alone in gynaecological surgery.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis was performed.

Hysteroscopic myomectomy is widely used to treat submucosal myomas. However, performing hysteroscopic surgery on certain type II (and even type III) or large myomas remains challenging. High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has recently emerged as a promising alternative for treating various gynecologic conditions.

Objectives: Laparoscopic myomectomy (LM) is a procedure with a high rate of postoperative adhesions, which can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction and subsequent surgical problems, making anti-adhesion measures important. Various anti-adhesion materials are already on the market and have shown efficacy, but dextrin hydrogel spray (AdSpray™), an anti-adhesion material launched in 2017, has not yet been reported in the field of gynecology, although there are papers showing its usefulness in the surgical field such as repeat hepatectomy and ileostomy closure. Thereby, we investigated the postoperative status of AdSpray™ in LM.

Objective: Vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) is utilised for gynaecological procedures globally, however evidence to support its application aside from hysterectomy is lacking. A systematic review to determine feasibility and safety profile of vNOTES for benign gynaecology was conducted.
Data Sources: A literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, SCOPUS and CENTRAL was conducted, including all types of studies reporting vNOTES for gynaecological indications.

Objective: To reduce the damage of uterine endometrium caused during hysteroscopic myomectomy (HM) for reproductive aged patients, a new uterine endometrium preservation hysteroscopic myomectomy (UEP-HM) has been developed. In this study, we introduced this technique with comparing to the conventional hysteroscopic myomectomy (C-HM).
Study Design: The data from 94 patients aged 42 or younger who underwent HM (38 cases with UEP-HM and 56 cases with C-HM) for treating single Type 1 or Type 2 submucosal leiomyoma (SL) were analysed retrospectively for comparing the characteristics of both patient and target SL.
