In recent years, the application of pretrained models in specialized domains has become increasingly important. Traditionally, adapting these models involved fine-tuning their parameters and structures through retraining. However, these fine-tuning methods can be inefficient, particularly when addressing data from specific domains or when modifications are needed in the lower layers of large-scale pretrained models.

In this study, we propose an enhanced LiDAR-based mapping and localization system that utilizes a camera-based YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm to detect and remove dynamic objects, such as vehicles, from the mapping process. GPS, while commonly used for localization, often fails in urban environments due to signal blockages. To address this limitation, our system integrates YOLOv4 with LiDAR, enabling the removal of dynamic objects to improve map accuracy and localization in high-traffic areas.

Background: Digital dementia is a term that describes a possible decline in cognitive abilities, especially memory, attributed to the excessive use of digital technology such as smartphones, computers, and tablets. This concept has gained popularity in public discourse and media lately. With the increasing use of social media platforms such as Twitter (subsequently rebranded as X), discussions about digital dementia have become more widespread, which offer a rich source of information to understand public perceptions, concerns, and sentiments regarding this phenomenon.

For tumors wherein cancer cells remain in the tissue after colorectal cancer surgery, a hyperthermic anticancer agent is injected into the abdominal cavity to necrotize the remaining cancer cells with heat using a hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy system. However, during circulation, the processing temperature is out of range and the processing result is deteriorated. This paper proposes a look-up table (LUT) module design method that can stably maintain the processing temperature range during circulation via feedback.

The objective of this work is to address the problem of detecting track intruders in railway systems using deep learning-based algorithms. Unauthorized entry onto railway tracks poses a significant risk of collisions between trains and humans. However, intrusion discrimination algorithms often suffer from a lack of learning data and data imbalance issues.

After surgery for ovarian cancer or colorectal cancer, residual tumors are left around. A practical way to treat residual tumors is to destroy them with heat by injecting high-temperature drugs into the abdominal cavity. The injected medicinal substances are induced to flow out of the abdominal cavity; then, the spilled drug flows back into the abdominal cavity through feedback.

The consumption of multimedia content is ubiquitous in modern society. This is made possible by wireless local area networks (W-LAN) or wire service systems. Bandpass filters (BPF) have become very popular as they solve certain data transmission limitations allowing users to obtain reliable access to their multimedia content.

Rodents have a well-developed sense of smell and are used to detect explosives, mines, illegal substances, hidden currency, and contraband, but it is impossible to keep their concentration constantly. Therefore, there is an ongoing effort to infer odors detected by animals without behavioral readings with brain-computer interface (BCI) technology. However, the invasive BCI technique has the disadvantage that long-term studies are limited by the immune response and electrode movement.

The recurrent neural network (RNN) model, which is a deep-learning network that can memorize past information, is used in this paper to memorize continuous movements in indoor positioning to reduce positioning error. To use an RNN model in Wi-Fi-fingerprint based indoor positioning, data set must be sequential. However, Wi-Fi fingerprinting only saves the received signal strength indicator for a location, so it cannot be used as RNN data.
