Hypoxia and hypo-high-density lipoproteinemia (hypo-HDLemia) are proposed risk factors for rotator cuff tear. HDL is recognized for its potential benefits in ischemia-driven angiogenesis and wound healing. Nevertheless, research on the potential benefits of reconstituted HDL (rHDL) on human rotator cuff fibroblasts (RCFs) under hypoxia is limited.

The purpose of the current in silico planning study is to compare radiation doses of whole-breast irradiation (WBI) and whole-breast plus regional lymph node irradiation (WBI+RNI) administered to the regional lymph nodes (RLN) in pN1 breast cancer. Twenty-four participating institutions were asked to create plans of WBI and WBI+RNI for two dummy cases. To compare target coverage between the participants, an isodose line equal to 90% of the prescribed dose was converted to an isodose contour (contour) The relative nodal dose (RND) was obtained using the ratio of RLN dose to the target dose.

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the effects of a telephone-based self-management support program led by nurses on self-care behavior, biological index for cardiac function, and depression.

Methods: This study is a quasi-experiment in nonequivalent control group design. Thirty-eight heart failure patients underwent medical treatment at the hospital (18 heart failure patients in the experimental group and 20 heart failure patients in the control group).

Exercise increases the levels of neurogenic factors and enhances neurogenesis, memory, and learning. However, the molecular link between exercise and neurogenesis is not clear. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of exercise intensity on cognitive function and protein expression in the hippocampus of old mice.

Background: How short-term blood pressure variability (BPV) is affected in the acute stage of ischemic stroke and whether BPV is associated with early neurologic outcomes remains unclear.

Methods: Patients who admitted for ischemic stroke within 24 h of symptom onset were consecutively identified between January 2010 and January 2015. BP profiles measured in real-time were summarized into short-term, 24-h time intervals, based on standard deviation (SD) and mean of systolic BP (SBPSD) during the first 3 days.

Background And Purpose: RAO is caused by various etiologies and subsequent vascular events may be associated with underlying etiologies. Our aim is to investigate the etiologies of RAO, the occurrence of subsequent vascular events and their association in patients with RAO.

Methods: We analyzed data from 151 consecutive patients presenting with acute non-arteritic RAO between 2003 and 2013 in a single tertiary-care hospital.

Temporal current-source of spikes suggests initial treatment failure in childhood absence epilepsy.

Seizure

Purpose: In addition to the frontal lobe, the temporal lobe may also be involved in typical absence seizures. However, few studies have addressed the relationship between this involvement and drug responsiveness in childhood absence epilepsy (CAE). In this study, we observed the current-source distribution (CSD) of generalized spike-and-wave discharges (GSWDs) and investigated the relationship between temporal lobe involvement in the CSD and responsiveness to initial antiepileptic drug (AED) in CAE.

Aim: To evaluate to morbidity and mortality differences between 4 underlying heart diseases, myocardial infarction (MI), angina pectoris (Angina), heart failure (HF), and atrial fibrillation (AF), after radical surgery for gastric cancer.

Methods: We retrospectively collected data from 221 patients of a total of 15167 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy and were preoperatively diagnosed with a history of Angina, MI, HF, or AF in 8 hospitals.

Results: We find that the total morbidity rate is significantly higher in the MI group (44%) than the Angina (15.
