Purpose: Minimal data exist on brain injury in patients with exertional heatstroke (EHS) in developing country. In this study, we explored the risk factors for brain injury induced by EHS 90-day after onset.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study of patients with EHS was conducted in the intensive care unit of the General Hospital of Southern Theater Command of PLA in China from April 2014 to June 2019.
In vitro studies have shown flavonoids to be effective antioxidants. Flavonoid C-glycosides have antioxidant properties, but there are very few data on their cellular antioxidant activity. The chemical activities of violanthin against alpha amylase and sorbitol dehydrogenase were investigated utilizing the molecular docking study.

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effect of oxalis on prostate tumor in the mouse model of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and its action mechanism.
Methods: We established a CRPC model in 40 male C57/BL mice aged 6-8 weeks, divided them randomly into four groups of an equal number, and treated them intragastrically with normal saline (control), low-dose oxalis (5 mg/kg/d), medium-dose oxalis (10 mg/kg/d), and high-dose oxalis (15 mg/kg/d), respectively. After 28 days of treatment, we measured the tumor volume and body weight of the mice in different groups, calculated the tumor-inhibition rate, examined the histomorphological changes of the prostate tumors by HE staining, and detected the expressions of the nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway and its downstream proteins in the tumor tissue by immunofluorescence assay.

Background: The development of new-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a clinical complication that requires a better understanding of the causative risk factors. This study aimed to explore the risk factors and the expression and function of miR-1 and miR-133a in new atrial fibrillation after AMI.
Methods: We collected clinical data from 172 patients with AMI treated with emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) between October 2021 and October 2022.

Objective: To observe the distribution characteristics of peripheral blood inflammatory indexes and retinal macular area optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging biomarkers in patients with diabetic retinopathy (DR) with or without diabetic nephropathy (DN), in order to seek clinical biomarkers that can predict the development of DR and DN.
Methods: A total of 169 inpatients with DR who visited the ophthalmology department of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to June 2022 and had complete clinical data were collected, and the patients with DR were divided into two major groups, DR and DR/DN, according to whether they had DN, and then further divided into four subgroups, Non-proliferative DR(NPDR), proliferative DR(PDR), NPDR/DN and PDR/DN, according to the stage of DR. The distribution characteristics of peripheral blood inflammatory indexes [Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and Platelet to neutrophil ratio(PLR)], renal function indexes [Cystatin-C(CYS-C), Creatinine(Crea), Uric acid(UA)and Urinary albumin to creatinine ratio(UACR)] and OCT imaging indexes [Hyperreflective foci(HRF), Disorgnization of retinal inner layers(DRIL), Outer retinal tubulations(ORTs), Central retinal thickness(CRT), Retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL) and Ganglion cell layer(GCL)] were analyzed between the above subgroups.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Fibrosis is a fundamental change occurring in impaired renal function and plays an important role in the progression of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Dendrobium officinale Kimura & Migo polysaccharide (DOP), a primary active component of Dendrobium officinale Kimura & Migo, is reported to act on reducing blood glucose, suppressing inflammation. However, the anti-fibrosis effect of DOP in the treatment of DKD is still unclear.

Introduction: Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare condition characterized by superficial pustules following drug ingestion or infection. Currently, there is no clear link between rheumatism and AGEP. It has been described that hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a rare cause of acute generalized epidermal necrolysis (AGEP).

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a lethal malignancy with a lack of effective treatments particularly for the disease at an advanced stage. Even though immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have made great progress in the treatment of HCC, durable and ideal clinical benefits still cannot be achieved in plenty of patients with HCC. Therefore, novel and refined ICI-based combination therapies are still needed to enhance the therapeutic effect.

The endometrium receptivity was impaired by controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH), which would then lead to fertility issues and increased abortion clinically. In the present study, to explore the effectiveness of Tiaojing Zhuyun Formula (TJZYF) in improving endometrial receptivity of COH rats and the possible active ingredients and mechanisms, an approach of network pharmacology was performed and a COH animal model was established. As analyzed, stigmasterol and quercetin may be the active ingredients of TJZYF on improving endometrial receptivity and positive regulation of ion transport, the cytokine-mediated signaling pathway, and endocrine process, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor signaling pathway may be involved.
