Background: Arteriovenous fistula stenosis can directly lead to the formation of autologous arteriovenous fistula aneurysms (AVFAs), but the coexistence of true and pseudoaneurysms is relatively rare. The coexistence of true and pseudoaneurysms increases the risk of rupture of the arteriovenous fistula and complicates subsequent surgical intervention, potentially posing a threat to the patient's life, and thus requires significant attention.
Case Presentation: The patient presented with arteriovenous fistula (AVF) after hemodialysis 6 years ago.

Piroplasmosis is a zoonotic disease mainly caused by the and parasites. Piroplasmosis is often a subclinical infection in dogs and cats that is difficult to detect and is often suspected when clinical signs such as anemia are present. It has been reported to be prevalent in China.

Background: The association between sarcopenic obesity (SO) and cognitive impairment (CI) risk in patients requiring maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) is not known. In this study, we investigated the prevalence of SO in MHD patients. Furthermore, we would explore and compare the associations between SO, sarcopenia, and obesity with CI risk in this population.

Objectives: The association between muscle mass and cognitive impairment (CI) is conflicting. We aimed to evaluate and compare the associations of muscle strength, muscle mass and CI risk in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter, cross-sectional study.

Objective: To explore the association between fluid overload, evaluated by a new fluid overload indicator, the bioelectrical impedance analysis-derived whole-body extracellular to intracellular water ratio (ECW/ICW), and sarcopenia in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.
Methods: A multicenter, cross-sectional study that included 3320 adult MHD patients was conducted in 20 hemodialysis centers of Guizhou Province, Southwest China from June 1, 2020, to September 30, 2020. The diagnosis of sarcopenia was based on the Asian Working Group's definition of sarcopenia.

Background: Previous studies have suggested that long-term exposure to air pollution increases the risk of chronic kidney disease and its progression. However, the effect of air pollution on the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) has not been studied. We aim to evaluate the transient effect of air pollution on the risk of hospital-acquired AKI (HA-AKI).

Background: Normal-weight maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with abdominal obesity exhibited a more proatherogenic profile than overweight and obesity patients with abdominal obesity, highlighting the importance of early identification of metabolically unhealthy nonobese (MUNO) in this population. Visceral fat accumulation plays a crucial role in the development of MUNO. Lipid accumulation product (LAP), visceral adiposity index (VAI) have been proved as reliable visceral obesity markers.

Purpose: We aimed to compare the predictive ability of the anthropometric indices reflecting general, central and visceral obesity for identification of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.
Methods: A multicenter, cross-sectional study that consisted of 1603 adult MHD patients (54.6 ± 16 years) was conducted in Guizhou Province, Southwest China.

Background: Obesity is a well-established risk factor for atherosclerosis. However, it is unknown which measure of adiposity best relates to atherosclerosis in relatively lean maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. We aimed to explore and compare the associations between different adiposity indices reflecting general, abdominal, visceral adiposity and arteriosclerosis risk with atherogenic index of plasma(AIP) in relatively lean MHD patients.

BackgroundPre-dialysis blood pressure variability (BPV) in adolescent and young-adult maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients remains unknown. This study aimed to show the degree of 44-h BPV and to explore its related risk factors in adolescent and young-adult MHD patients.MethodsOne hundred and fifty-three hemodialysis patients aged from 14 to 29 were selected from 11 medical facilities in Guizhou, China.

Background: Homocysteine (Hcy) is an intermediate of methionine metabolism. Hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy) can result from a deficiency in the enzymes or vitamin cofactors required for Hcy metabolism. Patients with renal disease tend to be hyperhomocysteinemic, particularly as renal function declines, although the underlying cause of HHcy in renal disease is not entirely understood.
