Electrolytic manganese residue (EMR) is a solid waste generated during the production of electrolytic manganese metal through wet metallurgy, accumulating in large quantities and causing significant environment pollution. Due to its high sulfate content, EMR can be utilized to prepare supersulfate cement when combined with Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS). In this process, GGBS serves as the primary raw material, EMR acts as the sulfate activator, and CaO powder, along with trace amounts of cement, functions as the alkali activator.

Cement-based materials are widely used in construction worldwide, but they are vulnerable to environmental stressors and thermal fluctuations, leading to the formation of internal cracks that compromise structural integrity and durability. Traditional repair methods such as surface coatings, grouting, and groove filling are often costly and labor-intensive. In response, self-repairing technologies for cement-based materials have emerged as an innovative and promising solution, offering the potential to significantly extend the lifespan of structures and reduce maintenance costs.

Dongba characters are ancient ideographic scripts with abstract expressions that differ greatly from modern Chinese characters; directly applying existing methods cannot achieve the font style transfer of Dongba characters. This paper proposes an Attention-based Font style transfer Generative Adversarial Network (AFGAN) method. Based on the characteristics of Dongba character images, two core modules are set up in the proposed AFGAN, namely void constraint and font stroke constraint.

In conventional strategies to design donor-acceptor (D-A) organic molecules with a large electronic contribution to the first hyperpolarizability (), the effects of the torsion angles ( and ) between donor and acceptor moieties are barely considered. To address this issue, in this work, a promising and novel intramolecular boron-locking strategy combined with the different locking groups of different acceptors to control and , has been proposed to make D-A organic molecules with large values. Intriguingly, reducing the torsion angles will make the value of the pyridiny thiophene triphenylamine unit (Py-Th-TPA) dramatically increase up to 94%, which is mainly ascribed to the smaller and leading to lower excited energy of the crucial excited state, and enhanced charge transfer (CT) from TPA to Py-Th moieties, and finally greatly increase the donor and acceptor part contributions to .

Accurate medical image segmentation is of great significance for subsequent diagnosis and analysis. The acquisition of multi-scale information plays an important role in segmenting regions of interest of different sizes. With the emergence of Transformers, numerous networks adopted hybrid structures incorporating Transformers and CNNs to learn multi-scale information.

We used a nonadiabatic molecular dynamics simulation to determine the carrier dynamics of a graphene/ZnVO heterostructure in the search for an effective photocatalyst material. The C-2p orbital promotes the wave function overlap, guiding electrons to move between graphene and ZnVO, successfully achieving good mixing with the valence and conduction bands in ZnVO materials, which is conducive to supporting carrier migration. The overlap between graphene/ZnVO electrons and hole wave functions is less than that of ZnVO, and there is small absolute nonadiabatic coupling.

The performances of nonlinear optics (NLO) and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials are strongly related to the torsion angles (θ) between donor (D) and acceptor (A) moieties in D-A architecture molecules. However, the underlying relationships connecting θ to the performances of NLO/TADF materials remain unclear. Herein, we present a comprehensive theoretical study on NLO/TADF materials composed of a series of D-A backbone molecules (TPAAP/TPAAQ series and AQ-DMAC/AQ-MeFAC series) to shed light on these relationships.

Deep learning models have been widely used in electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis and obtained excellent performance. But the adversarial attack and defense for them should be thoroughly studied before putting them into safety-sensitive use. This work exposes an important safety issue in deep-learning-based brain disease diagnostic systems by examining the vulnerability of deep learning models for diagnosing epilepsy with brain electrical activity mappings (BEAMs) to white-box attacks.

Based on the characteristics of concentrated rainwater runoff in the mountainous areas of southwestern China and the low rates of rainwater infiltration into low-permeability soils. We have built a new type of sunken green space structure with a combination of a "overflow port and rainwater storage layer" and carried out model tests of storage and drainage performance under heavy rain conditions. The hydrological response of the new composite structure parameters to the sunken green space was analyzed using the HYDRUS-2D program.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) plays a vital role in controlling cell transcription and has been an attractive target for cancer treatment. Herein, ten predictive models derived from 1330 unique molecules against CDK9 were constructed based on molecular fingerprints and graphs using two conventional machine learning and four deep learning methods. The evaluation results showed that FP-GNN deep learning architecture performed best for CDK9 inhibitors prediction with the highest BA and F1 values of 0.

Development of a covalent-organic framework (COF)-based Z-scheme heterostructure is a promising strategy for solar energy driven water splitting, but the construction of a COF-based Z-scheme heterostructure with well-defined architecture, large contact area and intimate contact interfaces is scarce. Herein, we fabricated a direct Z-scheme heterostructure COF-metal sulfide hybrid (T-COF@CdS) with shell-core architecture by self-polymerization of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxaldehyde and 2,4,6-tris(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,5-triazine on CdS. The formed C-S chemical bonding between T-COF and CdS could provide a very tight and stable interface.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia has become a serious health challenge in countries worldwide. Many radiological findings have shown that X-ray and CT imaging scans are an effective solution to assess disease severity during the early stage of COVID-19. Many artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted diagnosis works have rapidly been proposed to focus on solving this classification problem and determine whether a patient is infected with COVID-19.
