However, the underlying mechanism that coordinates cell metabolism to regulate Treg activity is not completely understood. As a pivotal molecule in lipid metabolism, the role of SHIP-1 in Tregs remains unknown.

Co-existence of autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 3b and undifferentiated connective tissue disease with subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord in children: a case report and literature review.

Background: The clinical manifestations of subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord (SCD) in children are complex and vary greatly. Notably, some SCD patients may be complicated with autoimmune diseases, leading to high early misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis rates.

Case Presentation: In this study, a case involving an adolescent female with repetitive severe anemia, multiple joint swelling and pain in the left limbs, and paralysis of the bilateral lower limbs with serum vitamin B12 deficiency, polyglandular involvement, and various positive auto-antibodies (anti‑intrinsic factor antibody, anti‑parietal cell antibody, thyroid peroxidase antibody, thyroid globulin antibody and perinuclear anti‑neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody) is reported.

It is characterized by complex etiologies, including disruptions in exogenous retinoic acid (RA) signaling, which may serve as an environmental risk factor. Targeting the RA pathway presents a promising therapeutic avenue, though the precise mechanisms remain to be elucidated.

Posterior mediastinal extralobar pulmonary sequestration in a neonate with pulmonary artery supply: a case report.

This paper reports a rare case of extralobar pulmonary sequestration in the posterior mediastinum of a neonate with arterial supply from the pulmonary artery. A 3-day-old male neonate was diagnosed with type II congenital pulmonary airway malformation after prenatal color Doppler ultrasonography showed a lesion with blood supply from the pulmonary artery in the left lung. Post-birth chest computed tomography(CT) showed that the lesion was located in the posterior mediastinum with low density change, mild stripe enhancement after contrast, and no obvious blood supply vessels.

Objective: To explore the clinical correlation and prognostic value of the Albumin-Bilirubin (ALBI) score in children with secondary hemophagocytic syndrome(sHLH).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of children's sHLH cases clearly diagnosed in the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2012 to March 2023. Survival analysis was conducted according to the ALBI classification.

Methods: Analyze the expression of gene in AML and its relationship with prognosis through the GEPIA database. Collecting 30 AML patients and non-tumor hematological patients who went to the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2017 to January 2022.

Progranulin (PGRN) plays a critical role in bronchial asthma and the function of various immune cells. However, the mechanisms by which PGRN influences B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling and immunoglobulin E(IgE) production are not fully understood. The study aimed to elucidate the molecular mechanisms through which PGRN affects BCR signaling, B-cell differentiation, and IgE production.

Animal models of pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with atrial septal defect.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a well-known complication of congenital heart disease (CHD). The lack of a satisfactory animal model for PAH associated with CHD (PAH-CHD) has limited progress in understanding the pathogenesis of PAH and the development of therapeutic agents. The development of a rat model for PAH associated with atrial septal defect (ASD) was achieved through atrial septal puncture and thermal ablation.

ADGRL1 variants: From developmental and epileptic encephalopathy to genetic epilepsy with febrile seizures plus.

Aim: To expand the phenotypic spectrum of ADGRL1 and explore the correlation between epilepsy and the ADGRL1 genotype.

Method: We performed whole-exome sequencing in a cohort of 115 families (including 195 males and 150 females) with familial febrile seizure or epilepsy with unexplained aetiology. The damaging effects of variants was predicted using protein modelling and multiple in silico tools.

Prognostic value analysis and survival model construction of different treatment methods for advanced intestinal type gastric adenocarcinoma.

Background: Intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinoma, representing 95 % of gastric malignancies, originates from the malignant transformation of gastric gland cells. Despite its prevalence, existing methods for prognosis evaluation of this cancer subtype are inadequate. This study aims to enhance patient-specific prognosis evaluation by analyzing the clinicopathological characteristics and prognostic risk factors of intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinoma patients using data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Case Report: Intravesical and extravesical urachal cyst in children with lower abdominal pain and hematuria.

Bladder urachal cysts in children are a rare form of urachal abnormality. In this paper, we present a case of atypical imaging that presented with lower abdominal pain accompanied by hematuria, resulting in the formation of both internal and external urachal cysts in a child. A 6-year-old male child presented with repeated abdominal pain over a span of 4 days.

The outcome of early screening and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip in infants and toddlers in the Northern Guizhou region.

This study is an observation of the early screening and treatment effect of infant developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) in an area in China. From January 2016 to December 2017, we selected infants and toddlers with high-risk factors for DDH, such as asymmetric gluteal folds, unequal length of lower limbs, and limited hip joint abduction, who visited the Department of Child Health Care and the Outpatient Clinic of Pediatric Orthopedics at the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University. In total, 1485 cases were divided into age groups, examined using Graf ultrasound and X-ray, and the results were analyzed.

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) complicated by intestinal perforation and predict the incidence of intestinal perforation in NEC.

Methods: Neonates diagnosed with NEC at the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2012 to May 2022 were enrolled, and the clinical data were collected and analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into two groups based on intestinal perforation occurrence or not.

Hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury (HALI) is a complication to ventilation in patients with respiratory failure, which can lead to acute inflammatory lung injury and chronic lung disease. The aim of this study was to integrate bioinformatics analysis to identify key genes associated with HALI and validate their role in HO-induced cell injury model. Integrated bioinformatics analysis was performed to screen vital genes involved in hyperoxia-induced lung injury (HLI).

Effectiveness and safety of umbilical cord milking in premature infants: A randomized controlled trial.

Introduction: Both UCM and DCC are used to treat preterm infants, but there is no uniform standard for the length of UCM. The aim of this work was to explore the effectiveness and safety of different umbilical cord milking (UCM) lengths versus delayed cord clamping (DCC).

Methods: We enrolled premature infants from the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University between September 2019 and October 2020 with random allocation (1:1:1:1) to the UCM 10 cm, UCM 20 cm, UCM 30 cm, and DCC groups.

Comparative study of biomarkers for the early identification of Epstein-Barr virus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis in infectious mononucleosis.

Background And Aim: Epstein-Barr virus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (EBV-HLH) and infectious mononucleosis (EBV-IM) share mimic symptoms in the early stages of childhood development. We aimed to examine the clinical features and laboratory indices of these two diseases in children and uncover unique indicators to assist pediatricians in identifying these diseases early.

Methods: We collected clinical data from 791 pediatric patients diagnosed with EBV-IM or EBV-HLH, compared the clinical traits and laboratory biomarkers presented in the two groups, and constructed predictive models based on them.

Objectives: Although cytarabine (AraC) has greatly contributed to improving the prognosis of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), many patients developed drug resistance and eventually succumbed to AML. Thus, resistance to AraC is a major obstacle to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy in AML. Hence, this study aimed to demonstrate that artesunate (ART) can reliably induce cell death in vitro and block AraC resistance.
