The curing process regulates metabolite transformations of leaves and significantly influences the formation of tobacco quality. This study investigated the major physicochemical compositions and metabolic profiles under normal curing (NC), excessive curing (EC), and insufficient curing (IC) treatments. The results indicated that the contents of nicotine, nitrogen, potassium, and chlorine remained stable among treatments, while the sugar content in EC was significantly lower than in IC.

Article Synopsis
  • Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common health issue causing leg or back pain, prompting a clinical trial to assess the effectiveness of Yaobitong capsules (YBT) compared to Jingyaokang capsules (JYK).
  • The trial involved 479 patients who received either YBT or JYK, with outcomes measured using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and visual analogue scale (VAS) over 30 days.
  • Results indicated that YBT significantly improved ODI and VAS scores compared to JYK at various time points, with both treatments having similar safety profiles, suggesting YBT as a more effective option for LDH.

Background: Serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a primary metric for diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer (PCa). Exposure to heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and zinc can impact PSA levels in PCa patients. However, it is unclear whether this effect also occurs in men without PCa, which may lead to the overdiagnosis of PCa.

Cucurbit[]urils (Q[]s) are a class of supramolecular host compounds with hydrophilic carbonyl ports and hydrophobic cavities, which can selectively form host-guest inclusion complexes with guest molecules to change the properties of guest molecules. In this paper, tetramethyl cucurbit[6]uril (TMeQ[6]) was used as the host and three 2-heterocyclic substituted benzimidazole derivatives as the guests, and their modes of interaction were investigated using X-ray crystallography, H NMR spectrometry, and other analytical techniques. The results showed that TMeQ[6] formed a 1 : 1 host-guest inclusion complex with three guest molecules, and the binding process between them was mainly enthalpy-driven.

Agricultural land is the most basic input factor for agricultural production and an essential component of terrestrial ecosystems, which plays a vital role in achieving carbon neutrality. Giving full play to the carbon-neutral contribution of agricultural land is a crucial part of China's economic transformation and green development. It incorporates carbon and pollution emissions from agricultural land use into the unexpected outputs of the Green and Low-carbon Utilization Efficiency of Agricultural Land (GLUEAL) evaluation system.

In this paper, tetramethyl cucurbit[6]uril (TMeQ[6]) and 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethene (G) were used to construct a supramolecular fluorescent probe G@TMeQ[6]. The host-guest interaction between TMeQ[6] and G was investigated using H NMR spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and various experimental techniques. The results show that TMeQ[6] and G form an inclusion complex with a host-guest ratio of 1:1 and the equilibrium association constant () was 2.

An N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalyzed enantio- and diastereoselective [12+2] cycloaddition is disclosed to rapidly construct sophisticated molecules bearing a tricyclic core and morpholine moiety. The success of our reaction relies on the NHC-catalyzed remote sp (C-H) bond activation of a 5-benzo[]pyrrolizine-3-carbaldehyde under oxidative conditions. Preliminary studies revealed that our products exhibit superior bioactivities against two plant pathogens to commercial Bismerthiazol (BT) and Thiodiazole Copper (TC).

Under the path of sustainable development, the key to achieving green and low-carbon transformation lies in green technology innovation (GTI), and how to effectively coordinate the relationship between green finance (GF) and GTI is an issue worth studying. This paper constructed an evaluation system of GF and GTI and combined them with the coupled coordination degree model to explore their coordination of Chinese provinces from 2012 to 2019. Then, the core network evolution and spatial structure characteristics of GTI and GF were studied using the modified gravity model.

With the expansion of the scale of China's economy and the acceleration of urbanization, energy consumption is increasing, and environmental degradation and other problems have arisen. In order to solve such prominent problems, China proposed the "carbon peak" and "carbon neutral" targets in 2020. Although there are research conclusions about the impact of urbanization on energy intensity (), conclusions about the impact of the urban agglomeration policy () on are still unclear.

The Arthrodermataceae, or dermatophytes, are a major family in the Onygenales and important from a public health safety perspective. Here, based on sequenced and downloaded from GenBank sequences, the evolutionary relationships of Arthrodermataceae were comprehensively studied via phylogenetic reconstruction, divergence time estimation, phylogenetic split network, and phylogeography analysis. These results showed the clades Ctenomyces, Epidermophyton, Guarromyces, Lophophyton, Microsporum, Paraphyton, and Trichophyton were all monophyletic groups, whereas Arthroderma and Nannizzia were polyphyletic.

This paper reports the coordination of cyclopentanocucurbit[5]uril (CyPQ[5]) and cyclopentanocucurbit[6]uril (CyPQ[6]) with Fe(ClO), Co(ClO) and Ni(ClO). Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows the metal ions are directly coordinated with the portal of the cucurbit[]uril to form a one-dimensional supramolecular chain or independent systems in the CyPQ[5]@Fe(ClO), CyPQ[5]@Co(ClO), CyPQ[6]@Co(ClO) and CyPQ[5]@Ni(ClO) complexes. In CyPQ[6]@Fe(ClO), the metal ion is not directly coordinated with the cucurbit[]uril portal, but after forming Fe(HO), it interacts with the cucurbit[]uril portal a hydrogen bond.
