This study presents a comprehensive survey of the extant diversity of harvestmen (Arachnida: Opiliones), a pivotal taxon for biogeography and conservation studies, across Earth's geopolitical entities (here treated as "countries"). The rationale for recognizing more than 200 of these countries lato sensu worldwide is provided. The four most diverse of these countries are here further subdivided in states/provinces resulting in over 300 controlled vocabulary terms (geographic areas that contain harvestman records).

Gemeneta opilionoides (Bolívar 1905) is a rare grasshopper presently known from three localities, Biafra (in Equatorial Guinea), Makak, and Ngutadjap (in Cameroon). Few data exist on the biology and ecology of this species in the central Africa rainforests, while its natural habitat is being rapidly destroyed by deforestation. It has been recently found at two new localities, Ngoyla in Cameroon, and Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea.

We made single-unit extracellular recordings from mucosal-projecting bladder afferents in guinea pigs with protamine/zymosan-induced cystitis. The Piezo1 agonist, Yoda1, significantly potentiated mechanosensitivity, while its antagonist, Dooku1, abolished this potentiation.
