Methods: Thirty nine cases of kidney transplant recipients with hepatitis B virus and 20 cases of kidney transplant recipients (control group) between August 2000 and February 2002 were studied. Before the transplantation, the patients were divided into 4 groups: the mild hepatitis group (Group A, n = 8), the middle hepatitis group (Group B, n = 6), the severe hepatitis group (Group C, n =5) according to pathological diagnosis by percutaneous liver biopsy, and the control group (Group D).

Objective: To establish a rapid and convenient method of multi-color fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) on several different tissue samples: peripheral blood samples, amniotic fluid, embryos and bone marrow samples.

Methods: FISH analysis was carried out on different tissue samples, using probes specific for chromosomes 13,18,21,X and Y or for BCR/ABL gene.

Results: FISH analysis could reveal hybridization signals on metaphase chromosomes and interphase nuclei, it is also possible to detect chromosome aberrations.

[Study on the relation between the angiotensin converting enzyme gene and pregnancy induced hypertension].

Zhonghua Fu Chan Ke Za Zhi

January 2001

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Guangzhou Second People's Hospital, Guangzhou 510150, China.

Objective: To study the relationship between the 16th intron insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) gene and pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH).

Methods: The 16th intron I/D polymorphism of ACE gene in 60 PIH women (PIH group) and 50 normal pregnant women (control group) was detected by PCR. The type of ACE gene in PIH group was assessed and the serum concentration of angiotensin II (AngII) was compared between PIH group and control group.

Objective: To investigate the effect on correction of occipito-posterior (OP) presentation by changing maternal posture during labor.

Method: A prospective study was conducted in 120 pregnant women from March 1994 to December 1995. Women in labor were instructed to take the lateral posture so that the resultant force of the gravity of the fetus, the buoyancy of amniotic fluid, and the intermittent uterine contraction may change the fetal position from occipito-posterior into occipito-anterior (OA) presentation.

The hemodynamics of ocular artery (OA) and central retinal artery (CRA) in 100 eyes of 50 normal subjects and 61 eyes of 39 patients with glaucoma were studied with colour doppler image technique. The results showed the hemodynamic characteristics about normal and glaucomatous eyes and that the ischemic change of CRA was one of the high risk factors in glaucomatous visual functional damages. We propose a new classification of glaucomatous hemodynamics and the clinical application of hemodynamic parameters in glaucoma diagnosis.
