Trimethyltin chloride (TMT), an organotin compound with potent neurotoxicity, is widely used as a heat stabilizer for plastics. However, the precise pathogenic mechanism of TMT remains incompletely elucidated, and there persists a dearth of sensitive detection methodologies for early diagnosis of TMT. In this study, Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with 10 mg/kg TMT to simulate acute exposure in humans.

HIV/AIDS remains a significant public health challenge in China, particularly among men who have sex with men (MSM). Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and non-occupational post-exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP) are effective interventions to reduce HIV transmission in high-risk populations. This study assessed awareness and utilization levels of PrEP and nPEP among young MSM (YMSM) aged 18-29 in China and examined associated factors.

The evidence is even more scarce on the interaction of blood lead levels with occupational variables and ambient air pollution levels. We developed mixed-effect models based on a large group of lead-exposed workers (N = 22,002).

To analyze the distribution characteristics of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) among the occupational population in China's key industries during the period from 2018 to 2023, and to provide data support for the formulation of targeted prevention strategies. Between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2023, a cross-sectional epidemiological survey and a retrospective investigation were conducted in seven geographical regions of North China, East China, Central China, South China, Southwest China, Northwest China, and Northeast China, using a combination of epidemiological cross-sectional and retrospective surveys. The industries were stratified according to the degree of closeness to WMSDs, the size of the occupational population, and the importance of the national economy, and then cluster sampling was conducted according to the size of the enterprises (large, medium, and small) within each stratum.

Aristolochic Acid I (AAI) is widely present in traditional Chinese medicines derived from the Aristolochia genus and is known to cause significant damage to renal tubular epithelial cells. Genome-wide screening has proven to be a powerful tool in identifying critical genes associated with the toxicity of exogenous substances. To identify undiscovered key genes involved in AAI-induced renal toxicity, a genome-wide CRISPR library screen was conducted in the human kidney-2 (HK-2) cell line.

Lead (Pb) exposure is widely acknowledged as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies have established neutrophil involvement in Pb-induced cardiovascular injuries; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. To address this knowledge gap, the binding targets of Pb in neutrophils and their roles in regulating neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation were investigated.

The hematopoietic system is the primary target of benzene exposure. Whether peripheral blood miRNA can serve as sensitive biomarkers for benzene-induced hematopoietic damage has attracted considerable attention. This study focuses on exploring the role of miR-451a and miR-486-5p in benzene-induced erythroid damage and assessing their potential as biomarkers of benzene-induced hematotoxicity.

Half-life of cadmium (Cd) in blood is around 3-4 months, which is much shorter than its half-life in human organs (30 years). Promoting the elimination of Cd from the blood is a crucial step in reducing the body's Cd burden. However, there is currently no effective method available to facilitate this process.

Excessive lipid accumulation promotes the occurrence and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), accompanied by high levels of fatty acid synthetase (FASN) and more active lipogenesis. Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) acts as a chaperone to maintain the stability and activity of the client proteins. Studies have revealed that Hsp90 regulates the lipid metabolism of HCC, but the effect of Hsp90 on FASN still remains unknown.

Research on epigenetic‒environmental interactions in the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has accelerated rapidly in recent decades. Numerous studies have demonstrated the contribution of ambient particulate matter (PM) to the onset of AD. Emerging evidence indicates that non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including long non-coding RNAs, circular RNAs, and microRNAs, play a role in the pathophysiology of AD.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs), a class of endogenous small RNAs with lengths of approximately 19-24 nucleotides, play important regulatory roles in cells. In recent years, miR-363 has emerged as a prominent member of the miR-92a family, participating in various biological functions, including cellular proliferation, cycle, migration, and apoptosis. In particular, miR-363 plays a critical role in acute kidney injury, renal fibrosis, and diabetic nephropathy and can serve as a biomarker for the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma.

Accurate measurement of the vibrotactile acuities of the human torso is the key to designing effective torso-worn vibrotactile displays for healthcare applications such as navigation aids for visually impaired persons. Although efforts have been made to measure vibrotactile acuities, there remains a lack of systematic studies addressing the spatial, temporal, and intensity-related aspects of vibrotactile sensitivity on the human torso. In this work, a torso-worn vibrotactile belt consisting of two crossed coin motor arrays was designed and a psychophysical study was carried out to measure the spatial, temporal, and intensity-related vibrotactile acuities of a set of human subjects wearing the designed belt.
