Low fracture toughness, low-temperature degradation (LTD) susceptibility, and inadequate soft tissue integration greatly limit the application of zirconia ceramic abutment. Integrating the "surface" of hard all-ceramic materials into the gingival soft tissue and simultaneously promoting the "inner" LTD resistance and fracture toughness is challenging. Composite ceramics are effective in improving the comprehensive properties of materials.

The Incidence and Clinical Characteristics of COVID-19 in Children With IBD During the Omicron Wave: A Single-Center Experience in China.

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) had a major impact on the health of people worldwide, including the pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (PIBD) patients. As no study has investigated the susceptibility and disease course of COVID-19 in PIBD patients after the end of zero-COVID policy in China, we conducted a retrospective cross-sectional study in our center. A cross-sectional survey enrolling PIBD patients has been completed by online survey, phone, and face-to-face assessment.

The role of lnc‑MAPKAPK5‑AS1 in immune cell infiltration in hepatocellular carcinoma: Bioinformatics analysis and validation.

The oncogenic and tumor suppressor roles of lnc-MAPKAPK5-AS1 in multiple cancers suggest its complexity in modulating cancer progression. The expression and promoter methylation level of lnc-MAPKAPK5-AS1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was investigated through data mining from The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus and its significance in prognosis and immunity was explored. lnc-MAPKAPK5-AS1 was co-expressed with its protein-coding gene MAPKAPK5 in HCC and exhibited upregulation in HCC tissues as a result of hypomethylation of its promoter region.

Analysis of fetal fraction in non-invasive prenatal testing with low-depth whole genome sequencing.

Background: The fetal fraction (FF) is a critical factor influencing the performance of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). Different NIPT methods and sequencing depths can lead to distinct minimum FF thresholds for Trisomy 21 (T21). This study aims to analyze the minimum FF thresholds for detecting T21 in PCR-free NIPT using a low-depth whole genome sequencing method.

Background: Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is initially highly sensitive to chemotherapy, which often leads to significant tumor reduction. However, the majority of patients eventually develop resistance, and the disease is further complicated by its "cold" tumor microenvironment, characterized by low tumor immunogenicity and limited CD8+ T cell infiltration. These factors contribute to the poor response to immunotherapy in many cases of extensive-stage SCLC (ES-SCLC).

Nickel-Catalyzed Three-Component Carboamination/Cyclization of Alkynes To Access 2,3-Disubstituted Quinolines.

Presented herein is a nickel-catalyzed chemo- and regioselective three-component tandem carboamination and cyclization of terminal alkynes with organoboronic acids and anthranils for facile and modular access to 2,3-substituted quinolines. In this process, anthranil has dual roles: serving as an electrophilic aminating reagent and a redox buffer to suppress the generation of an off-cycle Ni(0) complex. Moreover, the anionic acetylacetonate (acac) ligand was found to be vital to ensure a productive Ni(I)-Ni(III)-Ni(I) catalytic cycle.

18F-FDG PET/CT Versus 18F-FAPI PET/CT in Eosinophilic Liver Infiltration.

A 48-year-old man presented with upper abdominal discomfort for 10 days. Abdominal contrast-enhanced CT showed multiple abnormal enhanced masses in liver, suggesting a probability of malignancies. The patient was then enrolled in a clinical trial of comparison of 18F-FDG and 18F-FAPI PET/CT in hepatic lesions.

At the macroscale, interactions between key nodes within the epileptic network, such as the central median thalamic nucleus (CMT), are critical to the, hippocampal epileptic process.

Autophagy Attenuates Oxidative Stress-Induced Collagen Degradation in Vaginal Fibroblasts: Implications for Pelvic Organ Prolapse.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The relationship between autophagy and pelvic organ prolapse (POP) remains unknown. The aim of this novel experimental study, utilizing tissue samples derived from women undergoing gynecological surgery, is to investigate the role of autophagy in mitigating collagen degradation in human vaginal fibroblasts induced by oxidative stress, with particular emphasis on its implications in the pathogenesis of POP. Exploring the role of autophagy in protecting against collagen degradation and cellular senescence in human vaginal fibroblasts under oxidative stress may offer new insights into therapeutic strategies for conditions such as POP.

MA104 cell line is permissive for human bocavirus 1 infection.

Human bocavirus 1 (HBoV1) has appeared as an emerging pathogen, causing mild to life-threatening respiratory tract infections, acute otitis media, and encephalitis in young children and immunocompromised individuals. The lack of cell lines suitable for culturing replicative viruses hinders research on HBoV1. Here, we characterized the susceptibility to HBoV1 of 29 human and 7 animal cell lines, and identified a permissive cell line, MA104.

Background: While much of the evidence linking the rapid urbanization and the increasing prevalence of allergen sensitization, but little is known regarding rural-to-urban migrants. The aim of this study was to identify the disparities in allergy, the gut microbiome and factors among native urban, migrating, and native rural Chinese.

Methods: We redesigned the dataset of the China Alliance of Research on Respiratory Allergic Disease secondary survey, and after stratified sampling, a subsample of 2422 subjects were enrolled for the analysis of a questionnaire, skin prick tests (SPT), and specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) titer measurements against 8 common allergens.

Acquired Diaphragmatic Hernia and Intestinal Obstruction in a Child with Methylmalonic Acidemia Following Pediatric Liver Transplantation.

Background: An acquired diaphragmatic hernia (ADH) is an uncommon event following pediatric liver transplantation. Pediatric liver transplantation proves effective in prolonging survival and improving quality of life for children with methylmalonic acidemia. Remarkably, there have been no previous reports documenting the occurrence of post-liver transplant ADH in patients diagnosed with methylmalonic acidemia.

Characterizing childhood trauma in individuals based on patterns of intrinsic brain connectivity.

Childhood maltreatment represents a strong psychological stressor that may lead to the development of later psychopathology as well as a heightened risk of health and social problems. Despite a surge of interest in examining behavioral, neurocognitive, and brain connectivity profiles sculpted by such early adversity over the past decades, little is known about the neurobiological substrates underpinning childhood maltreatment. Here, we aim to detect the effects of childhood maltreatment on whole-brain resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) in a cohort of healthy adults and to explore whether such RSFC profiles can be used to predict the severity of childhood trauma in subjects based on a data-driven connectome-based predictive modeling (CPM).

Introduction: To investigate the potential causal relationship between cathepsins and Narcolepsy Type 1 (NT1), along with the mediating influence of cerebrospinal fluid metabolites.

Method: We performed a comprehensive Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using genome-wide association studies (GWAS) data. Data on nine plasma cathepsins and 338 cerebrospinal fluid metabolites were sourced from the IEU OpenGWAS database, and NT1 were obtained from the FinnGen consortium's R10 release.

Purpose: Fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) contributes to sleep problems and social support is a buffering factor in the literature. However, the moderating effect of social support between FCR and sleep quality is unclear.

Methods: The moderating role of social support was examined in a cohort of 460 breast cancer patients from the 2024 Be Resilient to Breast Cancer (BRBC) program from a microscopic perspective using moderated network analysis, and then assessed macroscopically by Johnson-Neyman and response surface analysis.
