Ilex pubescens is a famous Chinese herbal medicine, frequently used to treat cardiovascular disease in South China. In this study, we aim to explore the absorption properties of ilexgenin A (C1) and ilexsaponin B1 (C3) in vascular endothelial cells after administration of the total triterpenoid saponins from Ilex pubescens (IPTS) and clarify the possible transport mechanisms. A UPLC-qTOF-MS/MS system was used to identify the components in IPTS that could be intracellularly transported by human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs).

In the present study, we describe the development of betaxolol hydrochloride and montmorillonite with ion exchange in a single formulation to create a novel micro-interactive dual-functioning sustained-release delivery system (MIDFDS) for the treatment of glaucoma. Betaxolol hydrochloride molecule was loaded onto the montmorillonite by ion exchange and MIDFDS formation was confirmed by XPS data. MIDFDS showed similar physicochemical properties to those of Betoptic, such as particle size, pH, osmotic pressure, and rheological properties.

Background: The imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriasis mouse model has been used as a model for pathogenic mechanism research, and methotrexate (MTX) is widely employed to treat various clinical manifestations of psoriasis. We explored the underlying pathogenesis of psoriasis and the treatment mechanism of the conventional drugs from the metabolic perspective of the psoriasis mouse model.
Methods: Male BALB/c mice were smeared IMQ for 7 days to induce treatment-resistant psoriasis and intragastrically administered 1 mg/kg MTX.

This study aimed to investigate the intestinal absorption characteristics of ilexgenin A (C1), ilexsaponin A1 (C2), ilexsaponin B1 (C3), ilexsaponin B2 (C4), ilexsaponin B3 (DC1), and ilexoside O (DC2) when administrated with the total saponins from MDQ (MDQ-TS). Nano erythrocyte ghosts have recently been used as drug carriers of water-soluble APIs due to inherit biological characteristics of good compatibility, low toxicity, and small side-effect. In this study, we developed a novel drug delivery system based on nano erythrocyte ghosts (STS-Nano-RBCs) to transport Sodium Tanshinone IIA sulfonate (STS) for intravenous use in rat. Objective: To establish a method for the determination of eighteen elements (Be, Al, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, As, Se, Mo, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Ba, Dy, Hg, Tl and Pb) in Serratulae Chinensis Radix by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrography (ICP-MS).
Methods: After microwave digestion, 18 elements in the samples were determined by ICP-MS and the method was validated.
Results: A good linearity of calibration curves was obtained, the mean recovery met the analytical requirement.
Hayata () is a Chinese herbal medicine used for the treatment of tumor diseases. An ultra-performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF/MS) based chemical profiling approach was established for the rapid separation and characterization on phloroglucinol derivatives and diterpenes in . Three phloroglucinol derivatives and nine diterpenes were identified by exact mass measurement and were further confirmed by Ms data.
