Market integration and economic growth.

This study empirically examines the interplay between market integration and economic growth across nine cities within the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration. The findings indicate that the city cluster's market integration negatively impacts regional economic development and has a negligible effect on the surrounding areas. In response, the research recommends the elimination of market trade barriers and a reduction in local protectionism within the city cluster.

Spatio-temporal pattern evolution of China's provincial tourism efficiency and development level based on DEA-MI model.

The spatial differences of efficiency and development level of regional tourism are evident, and the dynamic grasp of their spatiotemporal evolution characteristics and coupling coordination relationship is important to promote high-quality sustainable tourism development. Herein, we measured the tourism development level of 31 provincial units in China during 2000-2020, introduced the data envelopment analysis-based Malmquist productivity index to determine tourism efficiency, used exploratory spatiotemporal data analysis methods to explore the spatiotemporal dynamic characteristics of regional tourism differences and spatial structure, constructed a coupled coordination model of tourism efficiency and development level and analyzed their coupling excellence and synergistic consistency. The results were as follows: (1) The spatial differences of comprehensive tourism efficiency from 31 provinces were evident, and the average situation showed high and low distribution characteristics in the east and west, respectively.

This paper explores the influence of green financing and technological innovation on green e-commerce as companies seek to achieve these targets. The study uses a qualitative research design, employing semi-structured interviews with industry experts to gather data.

The growth or decay estimates for nonlinear wave equations with damping and source terms.

The spatial decay or growth behavior of a coupled nonlinear wave equation with damping and source terms is considered. By defining the wave equations in a cylinder or an exterior region, the spatial growth and decay estimates for the solutions are obtained by assuming that the boundary conditions satisfy certain conditions. We also show that the growth or decay rates are faster than those obtained by relevant literature.

Spatiotemporal interaction characteristics and transition mechanism of tourism environmental efficiency in China.

High-quality development is the theme of China's economic and social development in the new era, and it is also an objective need for tourism development in the 14th Five-Year Plan period. This study presents an investigation of China's patterns of tourism environmental efficiency from the perspective of spatiotemporal interactions. A nested analytical framework of quantile regression and spatiotemporal leaps was used to explore the driving mechanism patterns of tourism environmental efficiency under different leap types.

Independent director compensation and stock price collapse: Inhibition or promotion-based on a financial background perspective.

This paper takes the financial independent directors' compensation of listed companies from 2014 to 2020 as the research object and uses empirical analysis to study whether the compensation of financial independent directors promotes or inhibits stock price collapse. The research results show that there is a significant positive correlation between the compensation of financial independent directors of listed companies and stock price collapse. In state-owned enterprises, the compensation of financial independent directors has an inhibitory effect on stock price collapse, but it is not significant.

Assessing the impact of green human resource management practices on environmental performance in China: role of higher education.

The goal is for governments and executives to make environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources a priority. The current research examines how green human resource management practices have altered environmental performance in China's manufacturing sector. The survey used a trustworthy and valid questionnaire adapted from the literature to obtain the data.

Spatial and temporal evolution of Guangdong tourism economic network structure from the perspective of social networks.

This study uses social network analysis and modified gravity model methods to empirically analyse the network spatial correlation structure and spatiotemporal development trend of 21 cities in Guangdong Province from 2000 to 2020 based on tourism economic development data. The findings show that, first, Zhuhai has the greatest potential for growth as the centre of the spatial and temporal evolution trend of the network structure of the tourism economy in Guangdong Province, ahead of Shenzhen, Huizhou, Zhaoqing, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Dongguan. However, Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province, is experiencing a decline in such influence and development.

This study investigates tourism growth with the role of green digital technologies and green human resource management (GHRM) in China. We applied a fuzzy analysis technique using the 130 Chinese tourism SMEs that use digital technology. The study results declared that digitalization in tourism increases automation in both the process and the final product, raising demand and quality.

These effects are usually attributed to the diminished cognitive resources due to high-altitude exposure. Spatio-temporal analysis and simulation of urban ecological resilience in Guangzhou City based on the FLUS model.

Prediction of urban ecological risk, which is increasing with the rapid development of China's economy, has become more complex and difficult, resulting in great damage to the safety of people's lives and property and the quality of the ecological environment. Elucidation of the change mechanism of the urban ecological resilience level from the perspective of the resilience characteristics and exploration of the spatiotemporal differences of the urban ability are necessary to prevent and resolve ecological risks. To this end, here, a model for the evaluation of urban ecological resilience was constructed by considering three aspects: resistance, adaptability, and resilience.

Game analysis of enterprise safety investment and employee safety behavior strategy evolution in high-risk industries.

This paper aims to explore the influential relationship between the decision-making of investment of enterprise safety and employee safety behavior strategy selection, thus improve the effectiveness of decision-making. Based on traditional game theory, this paper establishes an evolutionary game model of enterprise safety investment and employee safety behavior strategy selection, and conducts numerical simulation analysis. The result shows:when the security investment cost is greater than the security investment benefit, the employee's security behavior strategy choice is significant for the enterprise security investment strategy decision; when the security investment benefit is greater than the security investment cost, the enterprise security investment decision is not affected by the employee safety behavior strategy; the choice of employee safety behavior strategy is not affected by the choice of enterprise safety investment strategy.

The relationship between grammatical knowledge and reading comprehension: A meta-analysis.

The study aimed to examine the cohesive tie effect on reading comprehension through the grammatical knowledge cognition process. The present meta-analysis examined the correlation between grammatical knowledge and reading comprehension based on empirical results published between 1998 and 2021. This study selected 86 studies with a total of 14,852 readers whose grades were grouped from primary school to university.

Spatial decay bound and structural stability for the double-diffusion perturbation equations.

In this paper, we study the double-diffusion perturbation equations when the flow is through a porous medium. If the initial conditions satisfy some constraint conditions, the Saint-Venant type spatial decay of solutions for double-diffusion perturbation equations is obtained. Based on the spatial decay bound, the structural stability for the double-diffusion perturbation equations is also established.

Does language make people more prosocial? The influence of Mandarin proficiency on donation behavior.

Both the effects of language proficiency on individual outcomes, and the influencing factors of individual donation arouse wide concern, but researchers have hardly probed into the relationship between language proficiency and donation behavior. Using the data from the 2012 China General Social Survey (CGSS) and the binary logistic regression model as the benchmark model, this study empirically examines the influence and mechanism of language proficiency on donation behavior. It is revealed that Mandarin proficiency has significant positive influence on individual donation behavior.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether playing exergames can enhance quality of life among young adults and it examines the potential moderators. A 12-week randomized controlled trial was conducted. Quality of life was measured using the short-form 36-item version (SF-36) scale.

Corporate social responsibility, internal control, and firm financial performance.

As the global challenges facing sustainability issues continue to expand, the issues of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ethical governance have become the focus of continued academic attention. CSR is important for firms to enhance their reputation and promote sustainable development. Using A-share listed firms from 2012 to 2019, this study empirically investigates the effect of CSR fulfillment on internal control and firm financial performance by constructing a regression model.

Research on the emissions from industrial products exported from Guangdong Province-an input-output model analysis.

This study uses an input-output model to analyze the wastewater, waste gas, and solid waste emissions in Guangdong's industrial exports from 2004 to 2015; the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) is used to analyze the factors influencing such pollution. The results reveal that embodied emissions of waste gas and solid waste in Guangdong's export trade are increasing, while the increase in wastewater emissions is not apparent. The Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) is used to analyze the influencing factors of pollution, specifically, the structural, scale, and technical effects.

Spatial distribution characteristics and accessibility analysis of beautiful leisure villages in China.

This study was designed to evaluate the spatial distribution characteristics of 1432 beautiful leisure villages in China using econometric geography and spatial geographic information system analysis methods, such as nearest distance index, K index, and nuclear density. We also used the grid cost weighted distance algorithm to determine the spatial accessibility of beautiful leisure villages and the overall accessibility of county units. In addition, our evaluations determined the spatial differences in county accessibility using exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA).

The impact of social comparison and (un)fairness on upstream indirect reciprocity: Evidence from ERP.

Event-related potential (ERP) technology and the dictator game paradigm are used to explore the formation mechanism of upstream indirect reciprocity behaviors. We design a within subject experiment of 3 (social comparison: upward versus parallel versus downward) × 2 (treatment: fair versus unfair) involving 49 subjects. In the first round of allocations, subjects are forced to accept a monetary amount allocated to them by another player.
