The construction of coupled electrolysis systems utilizing renewable energy sources for electrocatalytic nitrate reduction and sulfion oxidation reactions (NORR and SOR), is considered a promising approach for environmental remediation, ammonia production, and sulfur recovery. Here, a simple chemical dealloying method is reported to fabricate a hierarchical porous multi-metallic spinel MFeO (M═Ni, Co, Fe, Mn) dual-functional electrocatalysts consisting of Mn-doped porous NiFeO/CoFeO heterostructure networks and Ni/Co/Mn co-doped FeO nanosheet networks. The excellent NORR with high NH Faradaic efficiency of 95.

Sensitive and accurate determination of tumour biomarkers is extremely important for early cancer diagnosis. Herein, a photoelectrochemical biosensor platform was constructed for ultrasensitive tumour biomarker detection by utilizing Au@CuO to switch the photocurrent polarity of CdS/Ni-catecholates metal-organic framework (Ni-CAT) nanorod arrays grown in situ on ITO. The Ni-CAT obtains close contact with ITO and forms a Z-scheme heterojunction with CdS, which improves the photogenerated electron transfer ability.

High-performance elastomers with exceptional mechanical properties and self-healing capabilities have garnered significant attention due to their wide range of potential applications. However, designing elastomers that strike a balance between self-healing capabilities and mechanical properties remains a considerable challenge. Inspired by biological cartilage, a highly robust, tough, and crack-resistant self-healing elastomer is presented by incorporating hydrogen-bond-rich 2D polyamide (2DPA) into a poly(urethane-urea) matrix.

This study investigates the impact of environmental uncertainty on the digital transformation of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2013 to 2022. Our empirical analysis reveals that environmental uncertainty negatively affects digital transformation by inducing managerial myopia, hindering research and development (R&D) investment, and exacerbating financial constraints. However, these negative effects can be mitigated by increasing management shareholding, which aligns managers' interests with long-term goals, providing digital transformation subsidies to lower financial barriers, and fostering a favorable legal environment to protect digital investments and innovation.

Nitrate reduction reaction (NORR) involves an 8-electron transfer process and competes with the hydrogen evolution reaction process, resulting in lower yields and Faraday efficiency (FE) in the process of NH synthesis. Especially, Cu-based catalysts (Cu and Cu) have been investigated in the field of NORR due to the energy levels of d-orbital and the least unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) π* of nitrate's orbital. Based on the above, we synthesized a Cu-based compound containing CuN (Cu) through a simple one-step pyrolysis method, applied it to electrocatalytic NORR, and tested the performance of the Zn-NO battery.

In the current electrolytic manganese industry, iron separation and reuse from iron-rich manganese ore leachate (IRMOL) has become one of the most pressing challenges. This study aimed to investigate the optimal conditions for iron separation from IRMOL and to assess the economic and practical advantages of iron separation or removal in industrial manufacturing. To identify more cost-effective and technologically advanced production circumstances, we examined five key elements that weaken Fe(OH) colloidal production conditions in enterprises: reaction temperature, pH, crystal species, aging and reaction time.

Fluorescent polyurethane has been widely used as fluorescent probes and switches due to its diverse structure and properties, but most of them are solvent-based and synthesized from petroleum-based products. A new type of rosin-based anthraquinone fluorescent waterborne polyurethane (WPU-DAAQ) with good and stable fluorescence properties was synthesized by reacting rosin modified ester (RAG) as a diol and 2, 6-diaminoanthraquinone (DAAQ) as a fluorescent agent with diisocyanate. The structure of WPU-DAAQ was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, and hydrogen magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

The design of polymer-based composites possessing good mechanical and self-healing properties remains a challenge in the development of high-performance self-healing materials. In this study, we used two-dimensional polyamide (2DPA), biomass rosin ester, and a dynamic crosslinking agent poly (urethane-urea) as raw materials, and prepared biomass rosin-based composites via in situ polymerization. The composites with 1 wt% 2DPA exhibited excellent self-healing properties (self-healing efficiency of 94 % after 24 h at 80 °C) and mechanical properties (tensile strength = 7.

The pollutant -aminophenol (-AP) presents considerable risk to environmental safety, and its detection is therefore critical. Although various optical and electrochemical methods have been proposed for the detection of -AP, there are a limited number of detection methods based on photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors. In this study, a sensitive visible-light-driven PEC sensor was developed for -AP detection in water.

Climate change has significantly influenced the growth and distribution of plant species, particularly those with a narrow ecological niche. Understanding climate change impacts on the distribution and spatial pattern of endangered species can improve conservation strategies. The MaxEnt model is widely applied to predict species distribution and environmental tolerance based on occurrence data.

This study examines the relationship between E-mini S&P 500 futures' crash risk and Bitcoin futures' returns and volatility using data from 2017 to 2021. While E-mini S&P 500's crash risk doesn't significantly influence Bitcoin returns, it correlates with its volatility, especially during events like the COVID-19 pandemic and U.S.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are composed of metal ions and organic ligands with high specific surface areas, controllable porous structures and abundant metal active sites, showing their extraordinary potential in electrochemical sensors. Here, a 3D conductive network structure (C-Co-N@MWCNTs) is designed by anchoring zeolite imidazole frameworks (ZIF-67) onto multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and carbonizing them. The C-Co-N@MWCNTs exhibit excellent electron conductivity, a porous structure and considerable electrochemical active sites, which can effectively demonstrate high sensitivity and selectivity in the detection of adrenaline (Ad).

Although perovskite solar cells have achieved excellent photoelectric conversion efficiencies, there are still some shortcomings, such as defects inside and at the interface as well as energy level dislocation, which may lead to non-radiative recombination and reduce stability. Therefore, in this study, a double electron transport layer (ETL) structure of FTO/TiO/ZnO/(FAPbI)(MAPbBr)/Spiro-OMeTAD is investigated and compared with single ETL structures of FTO/TiO/(FAPbI)(MAPbBr)/Spiro-OMeTAD and FTO/ZnO/(FAPbI)(MAPbBr)/Spiro-OMeTAD using the SCAPS-1D simulation software, with special attention paid to the defect density in the perovskite active layer, defect density at the interface between the ETL and the perovskite active layer, and temperature. Simulation results reveal that the proposed double ETL structure could effectively reduce the energy level dislocation and inhibit the non-radiative recombination.
