A randomized double-blind phase 3 trial (CHOICE-01, NCT03856411) demonstrated that combining toripalimab with chemotherapy substantially improves progression-free survival (PFS) in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients without pretreatment. This study presents the prespecified final analysis of overall survival (OS) and biomarkers utilizing circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and tissue-based sequencing. Additionally, the analysis revealed a higher median overall survival (OS, 23.

Purpose: Relapsed and/or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (r/r PTCL) is an aggressive and heterogeneous hematologic malignancy with high unmet need. Previously, PI3K inhibitors were shown to be efficacious in B- and T-cell lymphomas, but as a drug class, these agents have frequently been observed to have tolerability limitations. Next-generation agents that improve the tolerability while maintaining efficacy are desirable.

Penpulimab is an anti-programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) IgG1 antibody with no Fc gamma receptor (FcγR) binding activity, and thus theoretically reduced immune-related adverse events (irAEs) while maintaining efficacy. This single-arm, phase II trial conducted across 20 tertiary care centers in China enrolled adult patients with metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) who had failed two or more lines of previous systemic chemotherapy. Patients received 200-mg penpulimab intravenously every 2 weeks (4 weeks per cycle) until disease progression or intolerable toxicities.

Cell cycle dysregulation leading to uncontrolled growth is a primary characteristic of malignancy. GSG2, a mitosis-related kinase, affects the normal cell cycle by interfering with the normal dissociation of centromere cohesion, and its overexpression has been shown to play an important role in cancer cells. Here, we investigated the function of GSG2 as a tumor promoter in endometrial carcinoma and its relationship with the immunological microenvironment.

Although antiprogrammed death 1 antibody plus chemotherapy has recently been approved for first-line esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), antiprogrammed death-ligand 1 antibody may offer another combination option in this setting. In this multicenter, randomized, double-blinded phase 3 trial a total of 540 adults (aged 18-75 years) with unresectable, locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic ESCC and who had not received systemic treatment were enrolled. All patients were randomized at 2:1 to receive either sugemalimab (an anti-PD-L1 antibody; 1,200 mg) or placebo every 3 weeks for up to 24 months, plus chemotherapy (cisplatin 80 mg m on day 1 plus 5-fluorouracil 800 mg m day on days 1-4) every 3 weeks for up to six cycles.

To investigate the occurrence and 90-day mortality of cancer patients following unplanned admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), as well as to develop a risk prediction model for their 90-day prognosis. We prospectively analyzed data from cancer patients who were admitted to the ICU without prior planning within the past 7 days, specifically between May 12, 2021, and July 12, 2021. The patients were grouped based on their 90-day survival status, and the aim was to identify the risk factors influencing their survival status.

Background: Furmonertinib (AST2818) is a brain penetrant pan-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeting both EGFR sensitizing mutations and T790M mutation. We report the pooled central nervous system (CNS) efficacy data of furmonertinib in patients with EGFR T790M mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from two phase 2 studies.
Methods: This was a pooled, post-hoc analysis of two phase 2 studies (NCT03127449 [phase 2a study of furmonertinib], NCT03452592 [phase 2b study of furmonertinib]).

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the third most common malignancy with a high recurrence and metastasis rate in South China. Natural compounds extracted from traditional Chinese herbal medicines have been developed and utilized for the treatment of a variety of cancers with modest properties and slight side effects. Maackiain (MA) is a type of flavonoid that was first isolated from leguminous plants, and it has been reported to relieve various nervous system disorders and exert anti-allergic as well as anti-inflammatory effects.

The effectiveness of neoadjuvant immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy is confirmed in clinical trials; however, the patients suitable for receiving this therapy remain unspecified. Previous studies have demonstrated that the tumor microenvironment (TME) dominates immunotherapy; therefore, an effective TME classification strategy is required. In this study, five crucial immunophenotype-related molecules (WARS, UBE2L6, GZMB, BATF2, and LAG-3) in the TME are determined in five public gastric cancer (GC) datasets (n = 1426) and an in-house sequencing dataset (n = 79).

Platinum resistance of ovarian cancer is one of the primary factors of poor prognosis and inter-α-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain 3 (ITIH3) is a potential DDP resistance-associated gene. The present study assessed protein expression levels of ITIH3 in human ovarian cancer and evaluated the relationship between its expression and platinum-resistance in patients. Furthermore, the effect of ITIH3 on cisplatin (DDP)-resistant ovarian cancer cells and the underlying molecular mechanism were evaluated.

Background: This study aimed to determine the impact of co-infection of Clonorchis sinensis (CS) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) on the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) following hepatectomy.
Methods: The clinicopathological information of 946 patients with HCC following hepatectomy was retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into four groups depending on whether they had CS infection and/or HBV infection: double-negative group (infected with neither CS nor HBV), simple CS group (infected with only CS), simple HBV group (infected with only HBV), and double-positive group (co-infected with CS and HBV).

Objective: To explore the effect of combined treatment of PD-1 inhibitor and chemotherapy on the level of peripheral blood T lymphocytes in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and its relationship with prognosis.
Methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on 150 NSCLC patients treated in Guangxi Medical University Affiliated Tumor Hospital from June 2018 to September 2020, including 77 patients treated with PD-1 inhibitor combined with chemotherapy as the observation group (OG) and 73 patients with chemotherapy alone as the control group (CG). Therapeutic efficacy, immune function indexes, serum tumor markers, incidence of adverse reactions during hospitalization, 1-year survival rate, and life quality after 6 months of treatment were observed and compared between two groups.
Objective: Researchers have investigated miR-130b-3p in lung disease pathology, such as lung fibrosis. The present study was performed to elucidate the miR-130b-3p-involved mechanism in acute lung injury (ALI) through delivery by mesenchymal stem cells-derived exosomes (MSCs-Exo).
Methods: ALI mouse models were induced via intratracheal administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and treated with MSCs-Exo.
