Objectives: To explore the role of allograft inflammatory factor-1 (AIF-1) both in diabetic rat bladder urothelium and in high-glucose-treated human urothelial cell line (SV-HUC-1).

Methods: Inflammation and oxidative stress (OS) promote diabetic cystopathy (DCP), but the mechanisms are not fully understood. The expression level of AIF-1 in diabetic rat bladder urothelium and in the SV-HUC-1 cells treated with high glucose was detected using tissue immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and western blot assays.

The CTCs were isolated and identified from peripheral blood samples and the cell lines of lung cancer patients collected by the multi-site liposome-contained IMMSs.

Effects of Moxa Cone Moxibustion Therapy on Cognitive Function and Brain Metabolic Changes in MCI Patients: A Pilot H-MRS Study.

Objective: To explore the effect of moxa cone moxibustion on -acetyl aspartate/total creatinine (NAA/tCr) and choline/total creatinine (Cho/tCr) in the bilateral hippocampus (HIP) and bilateral posterior cingulate gyrus (PCG) in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) using hydrogen proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS) and to provide imaging basis for moxa cone moxibustion treatment for MCI.

Methods: One hundred eight patients with MCI were served as the MCI group, and 67 age-matched subjects were enrolled as the normal control group. The MCI group was randomized and allocated into acupoint group, drug group, and sham acupoint group, with 36 cases in each group.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has precipitated rapid changes in medical education to protect students and patients from the risk of infection. Virtual Patient Simulators (VPS) provide a simulated clinical environment in which students can interview and examine a patient, order tests and exams, prioritize interventions, and observe response to therapy, all with minimal risk to themselves and their patients. Like high-fidelity simulators (HFS), VPS are a tool to improve curricular integration.

Fluorescence enhancement and red shift can occur when the G-rich sequence gets close to Ag NCs or the complementary DNA strand hybridizes with Ag NCs tail strand, which can be used to identify the nucleic acid. Ag NCs with the abasic site in DNA duplex can distinguish mutant genes such as cancer suppression gene p53.
