Background: Although maintaining a stable body temperature during the perioperative period is crucial for the recovery of neonates, hypothermia frequently occurs during surgical procedures in this vulnerable population. A comprehensive analysis of intraoperative details, including medical history and monitoring, is therefore essential for understanding temperature variations and identifying risk factors for severe hypothermia.
Objective: In this study, we delineated the characteristic patterns of intraoperative temperature fluctuations in neonates and determined the risk factors impacting the severity of hypothermia.

Objective: To investigate the clinical and genetic characteristics of a male carrier of exceptional complex chromosome rearrangement (CCR) and the outcome of preimplantation genetic testing for chromosomal structural rearrangement (PGT-SR).
Methods: Using the modified high resolution G banding technique and whole-genome low-coverage sequencing (WGLCS), we analyzed the cellular karyotype and molecular karyotype of a male carrier of CCR, performed an analysis of the single-sperm chromosome copy number and conducted PGT-SR for the patient by next-generation sequencing (NGS). In addition, we reviewed the literature on reported male carriers of CCRs and summarized their normal/balanced sperm ratios and PGT-SR outcomes.

Research Question: Do different timings of progesterone administration for day 5 and day 6 blastocysts affect the live birth rate (LBR) of artificial frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles?
Design: This retrospective cohort study included 1362 patients who underwent artificial FET cycles. The effects of 6 and 7 days of progesterone administration prior to blastocyst transfer on clinical outcomes were compared in day 5 and day 6 blastocysts. Univariable and multivariable regression analyses were undertaken.

Background: A previously trained deep learning-based smartphone app provides an artificial intelligence solution to help diagnose biliary atresia from sonographic gallbladder images, but it might be impractical to launch it in real clinical settings. This study aimed to redevelop a new model using original sonographic images and their derived smartphone photos and then test the new model's performance in assisting radiologists with different experiences to detect biliary atresia in real-world mimic settings.
Methods: A new model was first trained retrospectively using 3659 original sonographic gallbladder images and their derived 51,226 smartphone photos and tested on 11,410 external validation smartphone photos.

Background: While mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a significant challenge in China, research investigating the effectiveness of the September 2017 pilot program to eliminate MTCT of HIV, syphilis, and HBV is limited. Baoan district, which has a higher-than-average rate of hepatitis B infection among pregnant women and strong support from the government, was one of six national pilot districts selected for the program. Therefore, this study aims to assess the progress and implementation of the elimination of MTCT of HBV in Baoan district over a period of 5 years.

Background: Multiple myeloma (MM) is a malignant plasma cell disease. At present, numerous studies have shown that lncRNA plays a very important role in the occurrence, development and even drug resistance of multiple myeloma. It may become a potential diagnostic and prognostic marker of multiple myeloma and provide new ideas for targeted therapy.

Background: miR-26b-5p actively participates in the osteogenic differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs). The database showed that fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-21 is a potential binding site of miR-26b-5p. This study aimed to investigate the molecular osteogenic mechanisms of miR-26b-5p targeting FGF21.

Objective: To investigate the physicochemical features of glucose oxidase-loaded and manganese-based mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN@Mn-GOx) and its antitumor effect against gastrointestinal cancer.
Methods: The morphology, particle size and Fenton-like properties of MSN@Mn-GOx nanoparticles were analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta potential analysis, ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. A mouse model bearing human colon cancer HT-29 xenograft was established to examine the antitumor effect of MSN@Mn-GOx using MRI imaging.

Lipid metabolism is closely linked to adiposity. Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a typical genetic disorder causing obesity; however, the distinct lipidomic profiles in PWS children have not been thoroughly investigated. Herein, serum lipidomics analyses were simultaneously explored in PWS, simple obesity (SO), and normal children (Normal).

Objective: The classical osteoporotic signaling pathways include the four key genes (LRP5, Runx2, Osterix, and RANKL) influencing the regulation of osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis. This study investigates the expression of these four genes associated with bone remodeling during fracture healing.
Methods: Ovariectomized rats as an osteoporotic group were randomly divided into three groups-group A, group B, and group C.

Persistent high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the pivotal cause of cervical carcinogenesis. HPV types distribution varies greatly by region, and its long-term changes of prevalence remain to be fully characterized in China. Here, the largest population of 198,111 consecutive women who underwent routine cervical screening were investigated from 2015 to 2021 in Guangzhou, south China.

Non-invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD) can identify monogenic diseases early during pregnancy with negligible risk to fetus or mother, but the haplotyping methods involved sometimes cannot infer parental inheritance at heterozygous maternal or paternal loci or at loci for which haplotype or genome phasing data are missing. This study was performed to establish a method that can effectively recover the whole fetal genome using maternal plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and parental genomic DNA sequencing data, and validate the method's effectiveness in noninvasively detecting single nucleotide variations (SNVs), insertions and deletions (indels). A Bayesian model was developed to determine fetal genotypes using the plasma cfDNA and parental genomic DNA from five couples of healthy pregnancy.
