Background: The surgical treatment of retroperitoneal sarcoma (RPS) is highly challenging because of its complex anatomy. In this study, the authors compared the surgical outcomes of patients with RPS who underwent surgical resection guided by three-dimensional (3D) printing technology versus traditional imaging.

Methods: This retrospective study included 251 patients who underwent RPS resection guided by 3D-printing technology or traditional imaging from January 2019 to December 2022.

Osteophyte formation, a key indicator of osteoarthritis (OA) severity, remains poorly understood in its relation to gut microbiota and metabolites in knee osteoarthritis (KOA). We conducted 16S rDNA sequencing and untargeted metabolomics on fecal and serum samples from 20 healthy volunteers, 80 KOA patients in Guangdong, and 100 in Inner Mongolia, respectively. Through bioinformatics analysis, we identified 3 genera and 5 serum metabolites associated with KOA osteophyte formation.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with stage I to III colorectal cancer (CRC) were recruited and randomly allocated into two groups: group A, receiving elective surgery after SEMS placement for obstructive colon cancer, and group B, undergoing elective surgery for non-obstructive colorectal cancer.

In this study, a reliable and effective method using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Exactive-MS/MS) was employed to identify prototype components and metabolites in vivo (rat plasma and urine).

Objective: To summarize the surgical accidents and postoperative complications of the treatment of recurrent shoulder dislocation by suture button fixation and bone occlusion, and to provide clinical reference.

Methods: The clinical data of 16 patients with recurrent shoulder dislocation treated with modified arthroscopic Latarjet suture button fixation and bone occlusion between July 2017 and April 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 15 were male and 1 was female.

Results: Eventually, 108 consecutive patients received 174 surgeries were enrolled, experienced new or expanded infarction occured in 13 (7.47%) surgeries, which showed higher Suzuki stage on the non-operative side, more posterior cerebral artery (PCA) involvement, and more intraoperative hypotension compared to those without infarction( < .05).

Objectives: The impact of the Standard Protocol Items: Recommendations for Interventional Trials of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SPIRIT-TCM) Extension 2018 statement on the reporting quality of randomized controlled trial (RCT) protocols in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is not clear. This review aimed to assess the reporting characteristics and quality of RCT protocols involving interventions such as Chinese herbal medicine formulas (CHMF), acupuncture, and moxibustion published in the last 3 years.

Methods: We conducted an extensive search among multiple databases, including All EBM Reviews, Allied and Complementary Medicine (AMED), Embase, Ovid MEDLINE(R), PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and ClinicalTrials.
